Wanted to hear what you fellow NSX owners thought about this price for a 91 NSX with only 10,492km's! Im thinking of looking at it, and possibly buying it but not sure on the price? The mileage is low and could very well be worth it though, looking for your guidance here.

Wow such low Kms!! That is amazing, I would suggest getting the car looked at by a good NSX mechanic, or a first-rate dealership. Make sure that service is upto date, snap ring range, window regulators, etc. Take a look around prime for issues with earlier years, this place is one of the greatest resources available! Based on what it needs or upcoming services you might be able to swing a better deal with the owner. Wouldn't hurt to ask wound up getting my '91 for a better than expected deal, but I bought mine with 88k on it. Nice find in the autotrader!

Thanks,
Rich

That's what I was thinking. I've even seen '94's go for less, mind you they have more mileage on them.

If the car is truly mint, and it should be at 10k only... it's a fair price if Mint is what you want. The main benifits would be...

- condition of paint (near perfect, not chips)
- condition of interior (near perfect, very little wear)

Maintenance is something different all together... since he is the original owner...

- make sure all records are kept
- make sure that ALL maintenance has been done at proper intervals regardless of distance travelled...

All fluids and anything rubber are subjected to wear even if the car sits for several years. Look to see that the owner was diligent.

My previous owner performed a 60k service before putting it into long term storage. He then pulled it out of storage after 4 years (drove 2miles) and performed a 90k with timing / water pump and put it back into storage for another 2 years, then did another 60k before selling it (driving 2 miles again).

That is what you are looking for with an owner that put very few miles on the car.

to compare it with the one i have. 1991 with 3800km at the time of purchase (June 2006) we bargained it down to 49500 with the dealer (of course we had to pay both taxes and not just 1 for private)

But: You're car is Automatic and I know the guy was trying to sell it for over a year (I considered it before the "realized" it was auto - at the last minute I saved a drive to Windsor or somewhere far where the car was,)

I assume there's a different price schema for Autos vs. Sticks just based on the demand levels - the longer the car sits the more flex in the price - i'd guess.

Say what?

Maybe that, plus $30k gets you an 02+.

I agree with Dave, and will sell anyone my '03 for $89k CDN - but my bet is there are no takers since its too expensive for a typical Canadian NSX buyer.

It seems like nobody has any trouble TALKING about paying $60k for a '94 but when it comes to a 10 year newer car 50% more seems crazy:confused:

in canadian market yeah you have to spend 89k on a 02+ but i see 60k in the u.s.a. if you do buy that car you better keep for awhile.

Sure, $60k US. Converted and with duty and GST, youre at about $80k. That is the measure you have to compare to when you're lookiing at private sale NSXs in Canada.

You'll save about $10k if you bring up a US 02+ over a CDN 02+, which is consistent with what I saw about 2 years ago when I got mine. But that is before incidentals such as flights and hotels.

The best part about the US cars is not the money savings, it is the availability of cars. Its tough to find the car you want in Canada. Easier down south.

It sounds high too me you could get 91 arround $38-39 retail. On this week Toronto Auction there was a 91 Black 45km sold for $35000.

I'd worry about a 91 car going throught dealer auction - it means the Dealer not only didn't want the car for retail but didn't know another Dealer who wanted it - and I'd assume some wholesalers saw it on the Dealer's lot too.

Dealer won't buy a car because they know that the vehicle min. will be in the inventory for more than 3 mths, plus there is not a lot of Used Car Manager will take the risk.

Financing on vehicles go as low as 96-97, so anything under that year is unable to be financed through a dealer. So you either have to get a personal loan through your bank, or a credit union.

Also when purchasing any NSX get an Acura dealership to inspect it. When I bought mine and took it to the dealer, i ended up spending about 10k at the dealer and another 5-10k on my own. That was just on maintenance. My valve cover was sealed with silicone, and i was missing a headstud....all the bushings, a control arm, and a whack load of other stuff. Oh yeah, and my tranny mount was broken so I had to buy a whole new tranny, it was broken at the bell housing...ended up dropping the tranny three times in six months and 2 clutches....
