Sweden defeated our arch rivals Finland and won the olympic gold in todays hockey finals in Torino!

Edit: Needed to add a few smilyes as my first message looks a little too serious. Glad that the swedes got their gold. The norwegians did not get the amount that we are used too :biggrin:

Congradulations. I woudl image it would be right up there in importance as the 1980 win for the US over our archrivals in the semi's and then on to gold. Happy to see it spread around.

I love it. They are saying the Red Wings won the Gold Medal since 5 of our Swedes were on the team and combined for the winning goal. Well they kept on their winning ways returning to the Wings lineup in Anaheim last night and 2 goas for the Swedes as we shut out the Ducks 2-nill. :biggrin:
