Going back to NA - do I need a compression test?

Hi all,

I am in the process of buying an NSX that was CTSC. I asked that the CTSC be removed (yes, that does mean a CTSC kit will be for sale soon, so stay tuned ) and am wondering whether I should get a compression test done on the freshly-returned-to-NA engine. Runs fine and sounds nice but I want to make sure it's healthy.

I understand lots of people run the CTSC and have had it for a long time, and seems to be very reliable - any reason to be concerned?

I'd say you should have a compression test done before buying.

It was tested with CTSC on - what I'm wondering is if it should be tested again once CTSC is removed.

Why did you remove it?

I didn't, the previous owner did because he would make more money selling it separately - I didn't really care one way or another so I wasn't going to pay the same premium for it as someone who cared a lot.

If you think you would want it, you should buy the car with it. I'm sure you would spend less now versus later.
