Getting a Song from CD to PC...

musicmatch also lets you convert files from wave to mp3 and vice versa.. very neat.
 
<A HREF="http://www.nero.com/us/index.html">Nero</A> burner will do the same thing : rip tracks and convert to MP3 ... and the demo is free and fully functional (for a limited time only ;) )
 
I use Exact Audio Copy and WinLame.

Exact Audio Copy is very good at ripping the CD to WAV - it even re-reads the WAV to make sure it matches the CD.

WinLame is the best MP3 encoder out there - I have done comparisons between a WinLame encoded MP3 and the original CD, and there was no detectable difference between the two at a 265k bitrate.
