Boy you guys have all the fun! Gerry's car is awesome. BTW 300 miles @ 150 MPH is only 2 hours...

How far is this from San Diego? I'm out here on vacation and would love to attend the meeting. Thanks

It is about 3 hours with no traffic. But the meeting is on a thursday(crazy LA traffic), so you would need to leave a bit earlier in the day and hang around the beaches in Malibu

Richard, it is a long drive and you WILL hit traffic, but It would really be cool to finally meet you. If you need driving directions and some ideas on how to kill time, or hotel reservations to stay over Thurs night... private John "Anytime" or myself and we'll talk you in.

Whatever you do, don't leave late. Leave at noon and spend some time in LA. If you leave San Diego during rush (3pm), you will be sitting in traffic for a minimum of 4 hours, possibly more. Leave early and see the sites.

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it. I'll have to see how my day goes tomorrow morning, if I can get away and leave up to L.A. by the afternoon then I'll see you all there. Thanks again.

The line forms behind me!! J/K This definitely should be in the raffle drawing! Gerry and Gago(the tech) can have the floor at the meeting and enlighten us on the project and what it entailed. I will be getting off early today for this.
Thanks Gerry,
John Richards

Wish I could've made it tonight, maybe the next meeting. Thanks to John and Craig for giving me some help. I hope someone took some pictures or video to share with the unfortunate souls?

OMG!!! Gerry took everyone for a ride, including the waitress. I will first say that the car is very quiet(except the blow off valve) and sounds stock unless your in the throttle heavily. Well, after seeing a few get some rides, next was me. Nice setup, fast as hell. Did I mention the blow off valve? Sounded like the tires were chirping it was so loud. The power was amazing and seemed very driveable. At about 3 grand you were pushed back into the seat and it kept pulling hard up to redline(we only got rides, not drives). Gerry pretty much took the same test ride every time. It was a quick on the freeway, off the freeway ride. Entering the freeway on the on ramp, Gerry would have to brake heavily when entering traffic because we were going so fast while on the on ramp(no laws were ever broken). No cops and no tickets, so we must not have been speeding. Gerry forgot to mention that the shop that built the car is his and he does all the work himself. From this single Turbo setup to suspension and anything in between(tuning and custom fab work). Before the meeting, Gerry stopped his car by the track and ran down the 1/4 mile a few times. Clocked some low 12's(traction was a prob) and on the last run he ran in the 11's. He purposely waited until the last run to see what it really could do, as when your in the 11's, they make you have a full roll cage(and net?). At this point, he would have to leave. It was the last run of his day, so technically they couldn't make him leave. Gerry can install a 6psi system on an NSX for about 6500(his car runs way more boost and requires block reinforcement, and costs more) complete and can be done in 2 days. This setup gets you an honest 340hp to the rear wheels(remember, his is almost 500hp). The detail on the Turbo was very clean and simple with the Turbo under the car. The inter cooler sits on the top of the motor with the window scoop feeding it fresh air. I'll let others fill in some of the blanks, as I wasn't the only one who rode in the car. Craig, Marc(9lb) and Ilya can do the honors of the rest of the story...

My first run was just a pass to get me back to the pits so that I could put on my slicks to try to make a 10 second pass, I ran a 12.30 @ 80 mph as I was just short shifting the car at 6500 rpm and on the brakes before the finish so I would not run in the 11,s, The second pass was with the slicks I was 1/2 second quicker at the 60 ft mark and 7 tenths quicker at the #2 trap but the top of second gear and going into 3rd gear the car started to change lanes and it wasn't fun, I had to lift off the throttle gently to straighten out the car and just pulled off the track, I ran a 15.17 @ 50 mph, The next pass was back in street trim, I ran a 11.90 @ 125.2 mph with a 2.19 60 ft.I know that when I get drag radial's that will work on the car it will run hi to mid 10's at 128-130 mph.

I was one of the fortunate to be able to ride in his car. Even with the turbo (minimal or no lag), the car accelerated at a very linear speed. I sat in an 11 seconds flat v8 Vega befor. It was a very scary experience (very loud, raw power, major traction problem), but Gerry's 11 second NSX was very smooth, no rumbling, no noise aside from blow off valve, and tires chirping, just warp speed! After receiving the ride, my car felt more like a civic driving home.

Hey guys, nice meeting all of you lastnight. Sounded like every one had a good time watching and taking rides in the NSX. I know everyone watching from the parking lot had good view of the car. I'll be posting Sound files of the car and maybe some video with in the next week.

I had to take off before I got a chance to take a ride in the car but man... watching the fly-by's from the parking lot, I was in awe. That thing hauls some major ass!!! And as previously mentioned, super quiet. I hope we can see this project develop more fully. =) Nice job Gerry!

All the plumbing were ss and mandrel bend (I believe). I am very impress. In fact most of the ride Gerry didn't even push it beyond 5k and it was awesome. Thanks for the ride Gerry.
Dan

Fastest NSX I've been in... by far. Quiet, linear power, came on quickly and low. Looked great too. Nothing to add... it's an awesome setup. The blow off valve sounds like tires chirping. The first time he blew by us we thought he chirped the tires, but it was just the blowoff.

You can contact me by email. The kit will include everything you see on my kit, only the 6 psi kit will have a smaller Garret turbo. All tubing is mandrel bent stainless, the flanges are 7/16 thick and all tubing is ceramic heat coated, all lines are Earls braided with all Earls fittings, oil cooler, Tilton scavenge pump, Apex intercooler, Turbonetics delta gate, HKS race blow off valve, stainless steel exhaust, K&N air filter, pan gasket, oil filter and oil, and all neccesary hardware for the install. E-mail me if you need to know more. Thank you, Gerry. GOT POWER?

Not having allowed myself to ride in any other modded NSXs before (I didn't want to start feeling HP envy), I have to admit that Gerry's NSX provided quite a rush. The car sounded even better from the inside as the engine was very quiet (much like stock) allowing the killer woosh of the blow off to stand distinctly on its own. Hard to put into words...so I'll have to post an audio/video clip with good enough quality to preserve the experience.

Thanks again for making the trek to our meeting, Gerry!
