Hello, I'll be moving to Germany next month, and I need to arrange the car insurance. I don't speak any word of German, so I wonder if any of you could help me. Is there any online quotes? Or any insurance companies that might speak English? Thanx

If you have a NSX I would suggest talking to an insurance company that is specialized in exotics - the big companies have no interest in insuring cars like ours, sometimes they even refuse to do so.

You may start here to ask.

Warning: Full insurance (Vollkasko + Haftpflicht) can be more than 7,000 Euros per year in Germany for the NSX.

Forgot to ask: Are your cars RHD? If so you'll have to tell it the insurance company because the crash risk may be bigger here. Not to speak of some modifications you have to do to your headlights.

Thanx, the CRX is RHD UK model (too modified to insure I think), and the NSX is LHD and was actually originally a German car imported to the UK. I can get certificate of no-claims for past 6 years or so, so I guess there will be some discount?

I'm thinking of just locking up the CRX in the garage for few years, and use the NSX there. If the insurance is going to cost me 7000 Euros, then I might just get a green card from my insurance company in the UK (but I think they will only give me a full cover for 90 days, and then third party only after that). Full insurance in the UK for me parking in the middle of London on the street is about 1500-2000 Pounds (3000 Euros)...

Okay - should be no problem with the NSX, but I don't know if they accept no-claim-years from other countries (they do it from other insurance companies in Germany) - like everything it has to be debated, I guess.
