Fossil fuel is made up of decomposed organic remains, right? So whats the big deal if this guy came up with a way to speed up the natural process? If he can produce it for 1/5 the cost of petrol, then I dont see a problem. As long as he's not out gunning for animals.
In 1902 Diesel invented an engine that would run on anything. He had it setup to run on Peanut Oil (or vegetable) at the World Fair at the turn of the Century. He basically said it would run on any type of oil.
