hi I just picked up my left door garnish from acura today..
and when I put it on it just slides in, it's not secure.
If you don't know what I'm talkin about, go look at ur NSX and open ur door
look for this triangluar plastic garnish piece. That's the piece
to make a secure fit, should I just super glue that bitch on there?
or got any other suggestions?
thanks

When you install this item there are little built in clips (legs) on the inside of the garnish. They are on the underside of the garnish and there are slots in the door panel to accomodate them. You use inward and forward thrust when pushing this part on. Glue it in and you'll have to break it to get it off if you need to remove the door trim panel.
I don't suggest this.
I believe this part is well over $100 to purchase so why not ask the dealer to show you how to install it.
If you know how it only takes a few seconds to do.

yea, I might ask the dealer, it cost $30!

I did put it inside the slot, but it is not "secure" it will stay on, but if i knocked it accidetnly over it would fall off

The little plastic 'legs' clip into brassy metal clips on the door. There are 3 for the front near the mirror and 2 for the rear by the shoulder.

Wow thirty dollars for that part?
Not shabby. Look in the Mitchell manual on the home page of this site. It lists for a whole lot more money than that. You did good!

yea lol, form acura dealer? it's just a piece of plastic like 3 inches long.. lol

hey, can you please send me a link to the mitchell manual? thanks
i'm still having a problem.. it won't snap in or anything (the garnish)

it will fit in, but if knocked it accidentally it would EASILY fall off.. any help?

Ok. I thought you meant the piece behind the door handle.
That piece is much more than $30.00.
Now I understand, you mean the garnish by the window at the front corner.
As the gentleman above states there is a clip that this item inserts into.
If it's missing order a new one.
If it's there, pop it out. Make sure the little teeth in it are pointing out to grab the tab on the garnish. You may need to squeeze this clip with a pair of pliers to make it tighter but go easy. Then re-insert.
Perhaps put a little duct tape on the tab on the inside of the garnish wil help tighten it in place too
As for the Mitchell Motors link. Go to the NSX Prime home page and look to your left. The link is there.

i don't know, but all i see is my new garnish, all made of plastic.. and the medal clip that you insert it to. I can slide it in, but it doesn't stay secure..
I do not see any bronze colored spring clip?
because the previous owner, said the garnish fell, and it got ran over, so when I obught it, i bought a new garnish, and now here I'am..

Are you talking about the window corner garnishes? See this link, items 8,19, 10 & 21? http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Reference/1991-1992_parts_catalog/1-j13.jpg
There should be a brass colored spring clip that the tabs mount into - you need to be sure those are inserted into the holder assemblies. The clips spring into the holder, then they grip the plastic tabs on the garnish.

D'Eccose, yes it is item 10&21, It can slide in but not secure, where can I find those brass color spring clips? I don't see them? On the door..

Sometimes they come off with the garnsih, so that is probably what happened to your original ones.
I am having a hard time identifying that clip individually from the parts guide - the one I referenced only goes up to item 17
Check with your Acura dealer or check here http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net/acura/jsp/mws/prddisplay.jsp?inputstate=5&catcgry1=NSX&catcgry2=1993&catcgry3=2DR+NSX&catcgry4=KA5MT&catcgry5=FRONT+DOOR+WINDOW.
I think it's item 35 on this link.

A quick fix while you're waiting for them would be to pry off a couple of the other & take one clip from each of those - they should probably hold on with 2 of the 3 in the meantime till you can find them.
