What seems to be the problem here? help!! The door goes up but does NOT come down......................any sugggestion how I can fix this?

Check the safety light beam that goes across the bottom the the door way. If you have one it could be blocked or out of alinement.

I've done that already....safety beam is clear and aligned. but still not working...I am checking the phone book to see if someone can come and fix it.

Is the sun shining on the receiver part? I have it at a certain time every day during a certain part of the season I can't close the door unless I stand with my body blocking the sun to the receiver box.
