I was on my way back home from the south bay club meeting and on the way home it started getting dark. When I finally got close to home, I decided to grap some dinner in a local business park. I drive in and park at the end spot with a couple cars a few parking spots away. I open the door and look to my side and in the darkness see a profile of a silver car with a black top. NSX? No! It was a silver Camaro with a black top. I parked my car as far away as possible and then went in to get dinner. I don't mind my car being called a Ferrari but I won't settle for Camaro.

Heh.

While recently watching a Kids in the Hall rerun, I noticed a red NSX with a black roof being used in one skit. My wife was watching with me. She said, "That's a nice car. What is it? A Camaro?"

I have never been so close to killing her.

I KNOW no one will like this...but if you look at the rear end of the NSX from certain angles, it looks eerily like the back of an '85 Trans Am, with the glass hatch and all. 'Nuff said...I shall await the flames.

    j/k

If I remember correctly? A few years ago Motor Trend did a video on the car, saying how closely it resembled a Camaro.

I dunno, being a car nut and all I don't see the resemblance!

That would be saying the a Fiero looks like a Ferrari! :D

Sure the Fiero has 2 doors, a rear hood, just like a Ferrari can't you see the resemblance! ;)

It's amassing how many cars have the silver/black paint that our 91s have. Usually they are convertibles but I've seen a few Camaros that are easily mistaken for an NSX.

 I have to totally disagree with you guys... I don't think ANY body style Camaro could be mistaken for an NSX and vice versa! I mean I guess if I wasn't such an automobile enthusiast I might say it was a Ferrari, but I mean a Camaro? No! The NSX is B-E-Autiful and the Camaro is B-L-And!

Some Bozo asked me if mine was a 3000 GT and today another guy said it was a nice looking Corvette!!!

Plus, the other day some jerk in a Corvette waved to me like I was another Corvette!! Him I fliped off.

I get Corvette all of the time. Lambo, Ferrari, Camaro, anything but what it is. The only people in town that really know what it is are the kids in the Civics with some Fast and Furious wing on the back and a welded-on exhaust tip.

I suppose that's what happens when you live in the sticks.

I actually have P-car, 88 911 coupe, that people I work with ask me all the time if is a Ferrari, Camaro, Ect. Now a 911 can definately not be mistaken for anything other then another 911. It just goes to show that some people out their know absolutely nothing about cars. That is why we are on these boards and they are not. Just my opinion(for what it is worth).

911- NSX,

You may want to ask the owner of the P-car 911 is that the new bug. .

Well, my wife may have made me homicidal, but I must say my co-workers have been pretty satisfying. Working in the videogame industry means the people around me are largely nouveau riche nerds (like me!) and so they can recognize a sportscar. ;)

I had some guy going the opposite direction "bling blinging" in his Escalade the other day who reached his arm out the window to flag me down. He said "wow, I haven't seen a Lotus in a long time. That's one damn nice car you got there! Thanks for bringing it out!"

I couldn't bear to let him in on my little secret that I wasn't really driving a Lotus, so I just said thanks!

A lot of people think its a Corvette, and lots of vette drivers wave, then take a second look and see it's not one. I don't see the need to flip them off though, just adds the the general aura that all NSX drivers are a-holes.

I have gotten "nice Ferrari" a couple times too, but most people on SoFla seem to know it a little better.
