Up for auction is a 1996 Acura NSX-T (Targa) with 74,000 miles with. This is a NO RESERVE auction. If you are reading this ad you are already aware of the beauty, performance, and reliability of this vehicle. The history of the NSX speaks for itself, making it one of the greatest super cars ever produced. This example is in immaculate condition with all the service records even the weather stripping is like new with no cracks You will not be disappointed. I am the third owner and have owned the NSX for the past 4.5 years. Carfax shows 4 owners and you will see that owner 2 owned the car for 6 days. I have a recent carfax report as of 2/8/15 in hand and can email it at your request. Personally, I would trust Carfax over AutoCheck. Carfax is the leading industry in vehicle history reports. I purchased the car in 2010 with 58,900 miles. Both inside and out the car is immaculate for a 19 year old vehicle. Never smoked in. No stories here. This NSX has been meticulously maintained. I have binder of all service records from the previous owners including myself. I even have the original New Owner Delivery and Quality Inspection Report from 1996. When I purchased the car it was bone stock. However, I have added some tasteful modifications to enhance both the look and performance. Delivery and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. However, I will assist in any way I can. The following is a list of maintenance that has been done while I've owned the car (I have receipts of all records). Everything works, car runs great, turnkey and go, all original paint, absolutely no body work and No leaks.
Specifications:
3.0L V6 5-Speed
Mid Engine, RWD
270 HP
210 FT/TQ
3000LBS Curb Weight
Maintenance:
6/14 New Tires Sumitomo HTRZ III 215 35 18 /265 35 18 (driven maybe 1000 miles since installed, like new)
4/14 Synthetic Oil Change @ 70,619 miles (oil change good for one year) (Acura Dealer) --Synthetic Oil changes done once a year approximately every 4,000 miles.
2013 -- Pride V2 Dual Tip Exhaust (I installed it myself)
7/13 Brake Fluid Change (Acura Dealer)
4/13 Timing Belt Change ( Work done by Larry Bastanza, if you don't know he's the premier guy on the East Coast who knows these cars inside and out, he's comes highly recommended in the NSX Prime Forum)
4/13 Water Pump Change (" ")
4/13 CV Boot Right Axle (" ")
4/13 Replace Clutch Master/Slave (" ")
2012 Sent out Climate Control Module to be fixed common problem (Brian Kiehanu NSXe-repair.com did the repair, he comes highly recommended on the NSX Prime Forum)
7/12 Engine hatch struts replaced (Did it myself, 5 min job)
6/12 Bilstein Performance Shocks (drops car approx. ¾" uses original springs but lower perch) (Vince's Autobody Works, If you don't know Joe, he's another East Coast NSX Guru who knows these cars specifically the suspension elements, he comes highly recommended on the NSX Prime Forum)
4/12 All 4 Cam oil plug cap replacement (Acura Dealer)
4/12 Valve cover gasket replacement (Acura Dealer)
3/12 Stoptech cross drilled rotors and Hawk brake pads all around (I did the work myself)
3/12 -- Interstate Battery (Installed myself)
11/10 Spark Plugs changed (Acura Dealer)
*I'm sure I'm missing a few others, but I have all paperwork to confirm.
Additional Maintenance Notes:
9/06 Clutch replaced @ 44,068 miles (EPR Import Specialists OHIO -- under previous owner)
The car does have one "accident" which is noted in CarFax "very minor damage" 6/3/04. The previous owner disclosed this to me. I was not worried. The car was rear ended bumped @ 5mph at a stop light. Absolutely no body work was needed for the repair. The black outline bumper plastic piece located on the bottom of the bumper near the license plate was scratched. I had Joe from Vince's auto body confirm that all panels and paint are original.
Regarding the electronic climate control unit, sometimes on start up it makes a clicking noise (one of the vents behind the dash I believe doesn't open immediately), it stops after about 30 seconds. Again, this doesn't always happen. However, this problem is common with the climate control units which Brian did fix (about $200 repair as long as you send him the unit), but it seems to have come back since the repair (again maybe one out of every ten starts). However, the climate control system works fine, blowing cold or hot air at whatever speed/temp you desire.
Modifications:
Motegi 18" Rims all around (16/17" combo was rather lacking IMO it didn't fill out the wheel well gaps) - note: driver side front rim does have minor curb rash that I touched up, the other three are fine.
B Line Motorsports Cold Air Intake (sounds awesome)
Pride Dual Exhaust (sounds awesome especially with the CAI)
Red NSX floor mats and matching red-stitched shift knob
Carbon Fiber Rear License Plate Garnish
Seibon Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler with brake light (I have the original spoiler)
Since I owned the car it has been garaged. The previous owners also garaged the car. The paint speaks for itself, this car was babied!
The interior is immaculate with little bolster wear. No rips or tears. Power seats work fine. Both windows work, however at times one could be slow up and down (common NSX problem do a search and you will see)
I have the spare tire. However it is not pictured, since the car is on a battery tender (winter hibernation) so I needed to remove the spare. Clean undercarriage.
I have the title in hand.
Serious inquiries only.
Please email me with any questions.
The Acura NSX has been appreciating in value. They fetch a premium due to their rareness, looks, and amazing reliability. Just to note, if you are unsure of what these cars are selling for, just check eBay , auto trader, or if you're lucky enough to find a dealer selling one to get an idea of price. My NSX is competitively priced. However, some are not as in good condition and probably don't have the service records to back up their price. When I show this car, I get compliments on the pristine condition both inside and out. Many can't believe it's almost 20 years old. The steering is tight, the engine is smooth, and nothing tops the NSX 5 speed gearbox. No annoying rattles, everything is secure as it should be.
Seller has the right to end the auction early, due to multiple listings.
