I've had recurring problems with my left window regulator assy.
After fitting Hugo's kit the problem became worse when lowering the window below half way.
In fact, I must have made a mistake as the cable got squeezed and will no longer fully rests inside the plastic grooves...
Of course, one can't just buy a new cable!
Does anyone have a sound unit for sale, given that new ones seem to be no longer available?

You sometimes need to parse the language. I think AcuraPartsWarehouse uses the term 'discontinued' even if the part is just out of stock at Honda US or that Honda US may not have a confirmed restock date if its a very low turn over item. I have found on a couple of the vendor sites that parts that are listed as discontinued are available if you check Amayama, JPcarparts or MITA. That is probably why it is still available in France.

What happened to all the talk of Honda stepping up and supporting the NSX and possibly the S2000 with needed parts like other manufacturers do for their specialty cars? Just blowing smoke up our a--es obviously. Should be selling now while prices are strong, and the folks with wads of cash haven't clued in to Honda's lack of long term thinking. No wonder buyers are reluctant to pony up for a NC1. How likely is it that Honda will support this car selling in the numbers that it is? Certainly would be of concern for me, and I doubt I'm alone.

I think the issue is more of an internal struggle between Honda Japan and Acura US. Honda stocks almost every NSX part imaginable and has committed to full parts support for the NA1 and NA2 through 2030. Acura, for reasons unknown, has either made a decision or been compelled to discontinue parts in the US supply chain. I think this is ridiculous and don't understand why we customers have to suffer due to some kind of intra-corporate spat. I also don't understand the Acura markup on NSX parts that are often half the price at Honda. It's insulting and shameful.

If you get an unit for the US market, not sure if they differ from the EU version. Happened to me for a 2000 Honda.
Honcho: Honda always kept the best parts for the JDM market. Just think about the Type R, S...

I believe it's not only an issue between Honda Japan and Acura in the US as we have the same markup here in Europe where the list price for the window power regulator reaches almost 1000 USD...
Honda is reported to have made no money in selling the NSX but their spare parts department overseas has definitely corrected that!
The problem is that the NSX enthusiasts today are no longer the wealthy original owners but are well the true Honda/Acura fans.
Some food for thought I hope!

There isn’t any in-fighting.

Honda Japan is run by engineers.

Acura is ran by bean counters.

Acura doesn’t understand why it’s important to continue support for a 30 year old car.

Accounts don’t get it, Japanese engineers understand just why it’s so important and they LOVE the car here.

Too bad Acura isn't run by Mr. Bean because Rowan Atkinson loves cars. :D

Price differentiation between different continent is a function of
- the relative market power,
- the purchasing power,
- and the willingsness to milk the cows. :)

Japan, fair pricing, best supply
US, ok pricing, ok supply
Rest of the world, moon pricing, really bad supply like in the DDR or any former socialistic country.

A H garage needed a cyl head cover gasket for a 97, got one from within Europe from H, guess what? It was older than the car.

Good news, I got my left window power regulator this morning.
It was ordered from MITA ( thanks Marc) and delivered in a week's time to France.
The package came with two pairs of gloves and pictures on how to mount it.
Very nice indeed!
In no time ( well almost) I got it mounted in the car.
It works perfectly but definitely not at the speed of a modern car...

You certainly are not alone - I just can't bring myself sell mine ( and will feel really stupid if prices take a dump ) even though I am now afraid of track days or even road trips due to the NLA parts situation.
