I would think is was cut/re-shaped. You would still need a new hood or modify yours and all the support parts from the inners.

I would recommend to find a used '02+ bumper cover and cut it horizontally just below where the turn signals are and have a shop fuse the 2 parts together. Just my 0.02

You mean like this? A lot of rivet and cements.

I have a 2004 hood I was wondering do you have any photos that would show the process. I'm not quite sure what you mean about a lot of rivets.
Thanks

The 02 lamp portion of the bumper was cut and grafted to the 91 bumper. The combination light was covered with aluminium sheet. The everything is cemented to make the bumper smooth. I later change the bumper with an 02 replica.

Someone told me once before that the lights fit at the bumper with only minor trimming or grinding. Did you need to do this much work around the lights or was it something you did because of a certain look you were going after?

Not true. The pathway for the lamps are different between 02 and the older one. The blue cup as you see in the photo came of my 02 Sorcery bumper which is then riveted to the cut portion of the 91 bumper. To save all the trouble I would suggest you to get the 02 bumper instead.

Thats the problem I do not like the 02 bumper. Thanks for all your help.

Who makes after market head lights for the NSX? Maybe I can have them make one that bolts in place that does not require the cutting up of the front clip. It could still look like the stock light and even use the same internals. Just slightly different so it just bolts in with of course a 2002 plus hood.

All the trimming required to fit the 02 lights is about a 1" square on the light buckets, nothing structural.

What was done above was that they adapted a pre 02 front bumper to fit the 02 headlights. I understood your question as asking what trimming is needed for the o2 headlights.

I want to keep my 2001 front end add add my 2004 hood.
then add the newer lights.

After giving this some thought it would be easier to just have someone make a new fiberglass upper section bumper to work with the 02 lights and a 01 bumper. Then they could just eliminate the turn signal cutouts all together.

Would anyone be interested in purchasing a fiberglass top half of the bumper to hold 2002 plus headlight and stock bottom half of a Pre 2002 bumper? They would be made without the turn signal lens. Estimated price would be $500.00 based on 15 total.

Jin, what is holding the aluminum covers for the combination lights? How are those mounted? Just curious, I might cover mine someday...
