Front Airdam scrapes on hills

My 92 with 18 inch wheels has a nasty problem with the black plastic airdam scraping on steep hills both going up and coming down. I anticipate this by angling the car, going slow, etc., but I am tired of fixing the airdam when it comes off the bolts.

Anyone ever machine this plastic to allow 0.5 inches of additional clearance to avoid this problem? Is there a airdam on the market which address this?

Thanks

Raj

You have two options.

1) Take off the lip and drive without it. This makes the car look weird and disrupts the proper airflow.

2) Buy a spare one and change as necessary.

I don't believe that there is an airdam available with more ground clearance.

I agree with DocL. That is why Honda stocks these things, so they can be replaced. Almost as quickly as rear tires:D

I have the Cantrell one from SOS and I cracked this weekend in two places going less then 2 mph over a very small dip. I can not take it anymore I am going to go back to stock and just live with it when it scrapes. I would not recommend this to anyone who is going to actually drive their car on the street.
