It is now 7 years that I have Tein Flex (not the Mono) on my NSX. Now it is a track only car for 4 years with most of the good mods for track use (adjustable sway bars, non-compliance stuff front and rear, reinfocement bars, front undertray, rear diffuser, bucket seats, roll cage, slick tyres, ...). Just a BBK and short gears are missing.

Now I think of going from Tein Flex to KW Clubsport. What do you think of this upgrade ? Will it be in par with my quest of reducing my lap times ? The car is pretty well balanced with the Tein but they feel like floppy.

with good suspensions the first question is budget....then we can talk....but whatever your allowance the spring rates should be in the ball park 1000/600 lbs...

Doesn't 1000/600 seem a little high? Does anyone know what that is in KG rates?? I know the club sports come in 460lb rates front and back. 1000/600 seems like an odd balance F/R
Thanks for any info you can give
John

1000/600 was what comptech and Shad worked out for thier pro kit.It also had the blessing of PD and John Vasos.I liked the balance......depends on your goals and in part to what you like your car to be neutral to understeer vs the oversteer that many Japanese tuners like.

1000/600 is about 18/11 KG. It's high. It is what I'm running right now.

Turbo2go what coilover system are you running that rate on?

KW competition.

your not playing around! What made you go with those rates have you tried anything else on those struts?

I went with them for 2 reasons, 1) I found a reasonably priced used set that came to me from ProCar, and 2) I knew Billy Johnson (stuntman) knew them well as the FXMD time attack NSX uses these... and was hoping he would help me with setup. Which he did. There was some opinions here that it's too much and I shouldn't get it but billy emailed me and said they are phenomenal and to get them or get them and he would take them if I didn't want them. So billy was a huge reason I bought them. I have not tried other rates, but the ones they came with were even stiffer. 1200/900 pounds. Detlef said they came off some race NSX running on the Nurburgring, hence the super stiffness (and low-ness). I raised it for my car.

Anyway my ride is surprisingly good even at 1000/600 but billy says its because of the dampers. I might go slightly lower rate because they are cheap to try.
