How boring can F1 racing get?

You need a DVR or Tivo. I watched 2 1/2 hours of F1 in about 45 minutes. It's the only way to go. Plus you get to watch the good bits over and over, like Weber's tire de-laminating and subsequent rocket launch over the curb.

I have Tivo, and that's just my point. F1 has been diluted down to 45 minutes of racing.

The only pass I saw was in Q3!
Yeah, that was cool, they were going at it from the drop of the flag. Never saw that before.

As for the zzzzzzzzz, I agree. I was sitting there wondering why anyone who doesnt' actually race or at least visualize racing on a road course would like F-1 over all the other forms of rapid-fire visual overload. I concluded it was like chess, all about the strategy. And even though Ferrari executed theirs perfectly, I was hanging on, waiting for something to go wrong and Schumi to pull some old age and treachery $hit. But he looked like the Schumi of old.

I think the boredom has a lot to do with the course. Even the announcers commented that there was only one corner for passing (adelaide). The Q WAS a better choice for viewing.

Too bad Button and Barichello DNF. Although I don't like Schumi but I enjoy his reaction when he won the rest. Next will be in his country.

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzz... I don't even watch a F1 race to it's end. The cars are much too reliable :D, the drivers drive to their tactics :(, you hardly see any fights :(, it's absolutely boring.

Re: Where's the real excitement?

You're absolutely right. The other nite, I saw demolition derby drivers drag trailers around with them. Now that's cool. And do they still do figure 8 racing? Maybe I'll get into that !!!

yea, but the pre-gamin'!!!

Well, a kuhl thang about the French Grand Prix is that many people from the UK, Germany, and other countries converge for a few days of FUN.

My time in England a few yrs ago, I should've done the same as I knew many who actually did. It looked like an outdoor Lallapalooza festival, of-course relevant to motorsport enthusiasts. Seasonable weather (well relative to TX), nice scenery, and such an assortment of people... fabulous!

Yes, I'm told there is nothing cooler than the spectacle of being at F1, but watching it on TV lately has been a snooze. Kinda like CART has become. Champ Car was much better when there were different motor/chassis combos and Honda was kicking butt!
