Anybody planning on heading to this? If so are you taking the X? I know sometimes BMW and Mercedes clubs will have special areas for club members to park their cars. Are there any clubs for Honda that are recognized at the race and have similar benefits?

I'll be there on Sat. I'm taking the NSX, just going to park in the infield for the day.

There is a general car corral. Maybe there is a bmw specific one somewhere else. But the general car corral is on the back straight of the oval and there are all sorts of cars parked there. They will however put you under the "honda club" when you call for some reason, but you park among everyone else...porsches, ferraris, lambos, bimmers..etc...

Is the car corral only "nice" cars or is it just anybody with a pass? Will I be next to mini vans and pickup trucks?

Its for "nice" cars....mainly all nice sports cars, there are however the occasional suv in there but here is a pic from last year....kinda gives you the idea. Last year there were a couple 360's, M5's, a Ford Gt and Skyline all parked in there. Its a good time just walking up and down the line to see all the cars between events.

I called the track and they told me I have to buy a 3 day pass for the car corral. I'm only going on Sat.

I'm psyched!! I'm going!! :)

I got blessed with tickets for the 3 day weekend in the Tower Terrace Suite hosted by Arie Evandyk (sp?). Also, I got an invite for Friday night dinner hosted by the drivers and Saturday night the F1 Drivercast Party. Where Bishop interviews the drivers right in front of us. We get to meet the drivers. I am head over heels excited!! I'm driving my car from MI to Indy. But the tickets I got gives us police escort from Marriott to the Speedway... so I'll be leaving her safely at the hotel. The corrall looks awesome though* I'll be leaving Michigan Friday early afternoon. I would love to meet up with y'all !!

*oh, p.s. does anyone have any info on the best route to take from West Michigan to Indy ? Thansx*

Ah, well how much is a ticket for just sat? You figure you might pay $20 for parking anywhere else...so its almost worth it to pay the $60 for a 3 day pass and have free parking that is so close.

Good point! See you next Sat.

***~~Hey~~~*** I just spoke with my agent and he said that if a friend or so would like to get to the GP solo car (ie. bypass parking fee, if you haven't purchased), you are welcome to park your baby at the Marriott , and join the escort free via police (usually it takes about an hour but with this ,they drop us off in front with no concern of the parking issue, it's about a 15-20 min. time spance).. if any of you all would prefer this, just pm me... but do so quickly, as he stated that I could only include one or two persons (NSXR's , Of course ;) )..... :)

I cannot! wait! ...

*Again, I also have one slot if anyone wants to leave their car and have the police escort to the GP.

Woot! This will be my first F1 race in person... I'm psyched !! After the past couple months that I've dealt with, this is such evidence that through the ebb and flow of life, blessings abound

Hope to meet you all *~

I too will be there...and park in the corral...but unfortunately not in the NSX. I'm flying in on Friday and my buddy is picking me up in his 997. I will however be looking for my NSX brethren....and of course Mermi too!

This will be my 6th USGP. Believe me, there is nothing like the first time you hear one of those engines fire up and scream by you at 18,000+ RPM. Or the sound of the downshifting into a turn....esspecially off the back straight:biggrin:

I agree..that sound never gets old. Gives me goose bumps every time! I've gone each year since the circus has come to Indy. I guess this will be my 8th USGP there. A few years ago we found out about the car corral and it has made the experience even better. It's a car show and a race all in one weekend. Also, most everyone that parks in the corral is very friendly, regardless of what you drive. Best of all you don’t need to worry about parking lot door dings or caked on dust. I can’t wait!! I feel the same way about my NSX.... ;)
