Hello everyone.

I used to own a 91 NSX before the dot com meltdown and now I'm looking to join the club once again.

I see a lot of comments related to low ball offers. My thought is that no one should sneer at an offer of 90% of listed price or, if lower, accompanied by rationale (TB/WP pending, tires, etc.).

What is your opinion?

My second question concerns desirability as a buyer. My only firm requirement is a manual transmission. Softer requirements: black/green/silver, mid 90s car. Other than that, I see several scenarios that would make me a happy owner:
  1. Stock vehicle, turnkey and ready for years of trouble free driving other than expected maintenance
  2. Older car high miles, cheaper, that I can invest in mods to suit my tastes
  3. Modified car high horsepower, but looks and acts like OEM until you stomp on the gas.

In the end, like anyone else I want value for money spent.

I have cash in hand (or may need a week depending on final price) and, unless some major adverse event happens, will buy in the next 2-3 months.

I get the impression some sellers want the buyer to be much narrower in their focus. Based on the above, do I appear as a less legitimate buyer than others?

I'm new to the community and I'm learning a tremendous amount through the forums. I don't want to insult anyone while trying to get the best deal on an NSX.
