The car or the engine swap?

Yes:biggrin:

I should say I like Mustangs just fine, I just don't understand why you would spend all that money, come out with probably similar or even less HP as you could of with a built FI V8...plus I think hearing a rotary engine coming out of a Ford Mustang would just sound odd.

Doesn't that seem like a lot of time and money for nothing really gained?

All of the triple rotors with a turbo that I've seen make north of 700HP.

that alone is fun.

The look on people's faces at RX7 and then Mustang meets would be priceless.

Let's take a huge heavy car and swap in a torqueless wonder...sound good? Ok let's get started

Of all the motors to swap into a 'stang...at least the work looks clean.

Could of turbo charged the V8 for a lot less and come out the same with more torque.

I can appreciate the craftsmanship though...but to each his own...I would of spent my money differently...

I knew you were going to say that. The thing is I've seen the stock 5.0 V8 make well over 700 hp with simple bolt ons and supercharger. Why go through all the trouble of an engine swap which could easily done at a fraction of the price and time with the existing stock engine?

Now, swapping engines is pretty cool, and if the point of it is just to do it for the sake of it, I guess I can understand that. But again, it's a lot of time, money and work for the sake of just doing something. I'm sure I could make a brand new NSX replica from the ground up making my own hand casted and machined parts, which would be cool too, but why bother doing that when I can just buy a built NSX?

Perhaps someone wants to make a point to the shit talking piston lovers. Esp. the Mustang guys.

I know people with allot of disposable income. One of which was 20 at the time during the dot com days, made $80mil and bought S4 and FD for all of his friends, took them to the Fuji islands and bought an abandoned nuclear silo in CO for $750k so he can have something different and do rav parties there.

To each their own.

I'm sure there's even more outrageous illogical examples out there.......

Wow, that's pretty extreme just to prove a point. Talk about bowing down to peer pressure or cutting off your nose to spite your face? What would happen if someone told him that he couldn't possibly stuff his entire fist up his arse? I'd bet he'd show them!!

Talk about a Mazda and Ford partnership! I guess this is what happens when Ford surrenders control of the company!

It’s just a friendly reminder. Rotary engine contains HP and torque on every single RPM, but 4 strokes piston engine cannot do that. That's why Mazda 787B smoked other cars in Le Mans if you compare to the size of engine displacement.

Still the first and ONLY Jap car to win the 24hr le mans in that class....

that's exactly why the Le Mans officials decided to band the car from ever competing again. if they ever made a 48 hour Le Mans the 787B would be the only car still running! Not Porsche and others.

Ground Up Nova Restoration w/ Bridgeported Turbo 13B.

The build was badass.

This just proves my point from above. While technically a very skilled build, I just wouldnt want a Nova, or in this case Mustang that sounded like that.

I am contemplating a Shelby Cobra replica and it just wouldn't be the same with a rotary engine, something to be said about a thumping V-8.
