Hi everyone.

Just got my car back from having the NSX-R chassis bars and the S.O.S. harness bar installed. I can't tell you how happy I am with the overall feel now. The car's already rigid chassis feels even more rigid and it seems to me like the cars handling is a touch more neutral (ie less prone to understeer) now than it was before. I took the roof panel off the car yesterday to enjoy some of our great weather (S. CA has had crap weather as of late so a sunny Sunday was not to be missed) and even while driving over some crappy roads and train tracks...the chassis feels much stiffer.

My only question/problem is.... my factory seatbelt for the driver's side isn't retracting like it should be. It retracts some of the way but I have to almost force feed the belt to make it rolll all the way back when I get out of the car. Since I move my seat all the way back each time I get in/out (to make it easier) I'm ending up with some ugly slack in the belt. I'm having no such problems on the passenger side and the belt is still doing its job once it's fastened but it looks like crap and it's a bit annoying.

I know several of you got in on the group buy with me so I'm curious to see if anyone else is having this problem or if there's a solution. Taking the car back to the dealer isn't high on my priority list since they're more than an hour a way and my car has spent more time at the dealer lately than it has in my own garage.

Your thoughts/input is appreciated.

hi Christian --

The belt should retract. It will not spring back as quickly as a stock setup due to the angle of how the belt touches the plastic trim panel on the way in (this is common on every harness bar I've seen). However, it should retract with out having to force it.

A couple notes:
1. the factory bearing assembly has to be reinstalled into the seat belt during installation of the harness bar in order for the belt to retract properly. You can find the diagram on the second page of our installation guide.
2. make sure the plastic bagging that surrounds the seat belt is not causing the belt to drag.

Call us if you have any questions.

take care,
-- Chris

Hi Chris and thanks for the quick response.

I had a reputable shop do the install (you know who:wink: ) so I never even saw the instructions. I will call them tomorrow and talk it over with them. I appreciate the feedback and am glad to hear that something just needs to be adjusted.

PS - I absolutely, positively, without a doubt... love the shift knob. Best thing I've done for the car. Looks great, feels great and to my driving style... actually improves the way the car feels and drives. I'm in love.

Im still waiting to get my bar installed!

Love hearing your impressions of it though, just working out with the tech a reasonable time to install.
