I want to add a set of led lights or fog lights to my 04 but want to know where i can get a switch for it. I noticed in pics of other cars that on the dash next to the dash light dimmer switch others have a switch which looks like it is a fog light switch. In my car it is a blank cut out so i was wondering how difficult it is to replace that with the lighted fog switch i saw in pics of other cars? Does anyone know where to aquire such a switch? Thank you.

The switch you are referring to on some cars is actually the pop-up switch for the headlight unit on the earlier cars. This switch just pops up the light units for washing them without lighting up. The true fog light switch is on the centre console behind the gear shift. This is the square "tray" area on US cars? On UK cars, like mine, and Euro cars etc there are four switches there. They are front and rear fogs, headlight washers and headlight level adjusters...

The switches can be sourced from Honda UK, the P/N is 35180-SL0-003 in the UK. Sometimes P/N's are different from country to country. They are quite pricey. I think SoS sells them?

In the earlier car the pop-up and dimmer switch is a combined unit whereas in the later car such as yours, the unit is similar but minus the pop-up switch. You could just get hold of the earlier unit and fit that then make-up your own wiring to the pop-up switch section for the fog lights if you want the switch in that position....the combined dimmer and pop-up switch unit is P/n 35151-SL0-A02 in the UK.

i guess the question is can i purchase the pop up light swith since it has a sort of fog light look designed on it and install that in the blank on my dash and wire that to use to switch the fogs on and off? does that switch light up with the parking lights?

On my '96, the "pop up the headlights" switch does light up with the parking lights. The part number is 35151-SL0-A02, "SWITCH ASSY., ILLUMINATION & RETRACTABLE CONTROL". See "Electrical/Exhaust/Heater/Fuel" section, headlight retractable, in the parts manual

If you get the switch and need help with determining how to wire in a relay to stay within the current limits of the switch, etc, let me know. You're probably not that far away from me.

i looked up the part and it is interesting as it shows it is one solid piece which it looks like it incorporates both the dimmer switch ( which shows on the left and in my car it is on the right) and pop up switch in one solid unit that looks like it plugs into one receptor in the dash. it also shows a bulb in both the dimmer and the pop up switches. Am I looking at this correctly?

Yes you are looking at the correct part. But On facelift models the popup button was deleted with a blank

As Sudesh replied, you are looking at the correct part. You might try searching Prime for a used one. Perhaps Umbrella Designs might have one?

I think you want a headlight pop-up + dash light dimmer switch.

This way you can modify it to work with fog lamps? If so, I have one for the cost of shipping and a selfless good deed to 'primer.

The dimmer control is broken, but the pop-up light switch works. You'll have to add relays because the switch can only handle mili-amps.
