Last nite driving along, the voltmeter suddenly showed erratic reading, then the D lite on the auto transmission started to flash. This is the green D. Came to a traffic lite, the engine died. Restarted and the all became normal again. Left the car for 40 mins. Re-checked battery and oil level. All is normal. Drove home with headlite, A/C and radio on. The car ran normal. Any idea what is the problem?? A glitch or need to take to dealer for checking??. the X is a 91, 55000 miles with regular service. Battery is 4 years old.

It's a transmission code. The flashing "D" that I see on Honda vehicles is always due to the transmission.
Mine did that as the ignition switch went bad...
+1 for a failing ignition switch
Yep, second on the speed sensor.
