My black 93 lost its zaino virginity tonight! 3 coats and it looks like a mirror.

That is way too shiney and reflective  . I can't tell where your car ends and the garage begins!

Nice work.

wow! can you post how you did this? I need to put my car thru its paces now...

Washed with concentrated Dawn, didn't clay (my paint was in fairly decent shape already), then mixed up a 2oz bottle of Z2 with 9 drops of ZFX. Layered each coat on top of the next until I had 3 coats on it. Did all the glass/nonporus plastic as well as the paint. Buffed it off with 100% cotton towel (fieldcrest with tag cut off).

Black can be a bitch, but when its done right it looks crazy nice. Right after the Zaino, the neighbor's cat got on the car and scratched the hood and top of the car. I am so pissed! Anyone know how to prevent that from happening again? (besides killing the cat)

If your paint is swirled, do Z-AIO (edit) or the Meguire's swirl remover product (inferior to ZFX) first.

Short of removing paws from cat...there's the option of moving or storing your car in my garage. ;)

On a serious note, you and Tory must be exchanging notes. Your paints look great.

Get an outdoor car cover from SoS :)

So you use the dish soap to remove the previous waxing correct?

About how much did it cost you for the Zaino items that you used?

Thx!

Looks great man. Did you use Z-5 or Z-2? If you did those base coats in Z-5 you need to get some Z-2 and put another 3 coats on and it will get freaky shiny!

I used Z-2, there are still a few light swirls in the paint, but thats always going to be the fact since my car is a daily driver. I would rather get that little extra shine with the Z-2 than cover up the swirls with the Z-5. I will do some Z-AIO when I have the time.

I might hit the car with some grand finale today and see if I can get it even more reflective.

As far as cost, if you just want Z-2 and ZFX it will be under $50, but you always keep buying more and more products!

Looks awesome! Definitely give it a spray with the Grand Finale. I've been using it on my black 91 (yep, black's a b*tch) and it really brings out the shine. I've only had it a few weeks and the PO used Zymol which looks very good.

Not sure if I'll switch it over to Zaino which I use on my other cars, but the combo of Zaino carwash and Grand Finale isn't hurting it at all. Even though I'm a Z-2/Z-5 fan, I'm about ready to give the Z-CS a try. Have you used that at all?

Haven't used Z-CS yet, but when I exhaust my Z-2, I plan on switiching over - mainly because I am short on time!
