Hey all...

I have been searching for my dream NSX and I have found her...

I am trying to work out the financial details...

I know the arguement w/ Financing and paying with cash...

However this is one of the perks for my job is that the company pays for my vehicle of choice...

Now with that said I am still looking for the best rate possible...

I need to finance about 38K and its a 1998 NSX...

Anyone get some good rates these day?

From what I read when i searched the old threads it seems like CU are the best bet...

Anyone get some decent auto loans out lately in a similar situation? I searched but it seems like a lot of the thread are very old and a lot have changed since than...

Any help is appreciated...

Thank you in advabnced for reading...

Jeff

I got a great rate with Pentagon Federal. They're awesome. Took a note out for my 99 just last year. To join Pen Fed CU, all I had to do was become a supporter of the troops. You officially sign up for a donation (which I was happy to do) and you qualify to join. I wish I had done my mortgage with Pen Fed. They rock.

Awesome! Thanks for the heads up...

I dont know if this matters but this is going to be an CA purchase from a private seller...

Why not get a Ferrari/Lambo/Etc. then!

Well my vehicle of choice but I still have a limit well I set the limit but still hahahaha

I am being more conservative these days...

Truth is NSX is the only car that I have a special spot for right now...

Everything else that interests me are in the 100K range...

Back than the company picked up my 06 E46 M3 for me but times are different...

Once things liven up a bit more perhaps I will look at those cars than...

Well good luck finding any bank to finance a car thats 13 years old.
they look down on you for an Off lease. at 3 years. but the other guy posted
that he got one from his bank so you may have to go that route.

I know for a Fact that Bank Of America ( a joke ) will not do it.
I know for a Fact that Wells Fargo Auto Finance ( Mobsters )Will not do it.

what i dont know is how many banks will do it. its considered a luxury Vehicle and not a daily driver.
so their like save your own money and buy it.
I hate banks thats why I have a wide shovel and a huge backyard. and many treasure maps in my head. LOL

( seriously im not kidding.)

My credit union (PSECU) will finance anything for up to kbb value, no matter how old.

Thanks for the reply...

Can you pass me a little more info on that?

Thanks

Jeff

Unfortunately for you be in California, it probably isnt feasible, because its the Pennsylvania State Employee Credit Union. But I would check with different credit unions in CA, because Im sure a few operate the same way as this.

in my opinion, in these economic times if you can't afford to pay cash for it you can't afford it period.

Thanks for your .02 but if you read my original post carefully...

Nothing comes out of my pocket this is a perk from my job...

But I am still thinking for the company making sure I get a good rate which is never a bad thing...

I am going to pay gas + insurance but its nothing extra since I had to pay that when I had my e46 m3 which the nsx will replace...

Cash is not out of the question but if you can keep that money on hand when you can do deals that will have bigger returns why not...

Paying cash is not always > financing if you can make that cash work for you in other ways...

does your Job know how much parts are for the NSX? I bet not. any major issues and they are going to tell you trade it in and get your M3 back.

good luck

I actually financed mine thru my GF's home town bank were she grew up and is friends with the Bank Owner, I would have never gotten my NSX with out her help. paid it off so im Done !! saving to get another one now.

cuz the best feeling in the world is walking into a dealership/ private owner and handing them the cash/ cashiers check for the full ammount, and saying " my biz is done with you, give me my keys and the title goodbye"

(Wells F-you Fargo) was my financing for my 05 TL had to pay that off with a quickness cuz I was paying 650 a month for payments and 350 Month for insurance, I just didnt have Steak every night LOL

They dont have a clue but I dont really think that will be a problem... Plus its not just any nsx its one thats been cared for meticulously... WP/TB/All Hoses have been swapped out... Low miles for a 98 the paint and interior is like new... Not to mention PPI will be done before transaction... And the owner has maintanence records from Day 0 everything about the car is pristine...

GL with the next NSX its definitely hard to find the right one...

Now that is my kind of a job.....hiring?

Well if all things go well I'm looking to expand my sales team soon but car perks only goes to officers IE VP's and Up...

hey Jeff, good to see you on here - long time no talk! damn I want your job if they will pay for my car of choice...hehe ~ been looking at a M X6 or GTS

I agree paying cash is cool but not as cool as if a company is paying for the car so why would pay out of pocket when a company will pay. My friend's old company (National Semiconduction) gave him like a $500 allowance per month on a car so he used it towards an X5. Over 5 years basically the company paid off his car, lucky bastard!

If this is going to be your DD I would reconsider man, get a e93 m3 or IS-F. The NSX is fun but lacks a lot of the creature comforts and practicality I could not live with on a daily basis, trust me!

Dont know if you got approved for the loan yet, but I just got an email from Penfed for 2.99 on their used auto and refi auto rates.
Was just 3.99 last time I checked.

my check is in the mail for the financing of my silver 91, I hope it gets here today as I am scheduled to take owner ship tomorrow 9am! I had applied during the 3.99 rate offer, called to check status... heard the 2.99. I asked the rep about it and she informed me it was already taken care of and the check was mailed out yesterday (wed)

approvals with all proper documentation are still right at or under 24 hours (mine took about 5 hours) easy to work with for sure!

Who did you use? CU? Which one?

Thanks,

just wanted to add to this thread, i recently financed a 1992 nsx through navy federal credit union. i was going to go through penfed too but they took too long to process my application and lost paperwork. they had no problems financing an older car but the one stipulation they had was that if the car was over 100k miles they could only finance it for 2 years.
