Just wanted to thank Factor X for getting my car back on the road. The last time I drove it was 11 months ago.
For those that don't know, I blew my motor w/Larry's turbo setup.
It has been a long/hard journey. Almost unbelievable at times. But finally, just got her back this weekend.

FX is definitely a class act. Ken has always been there, every step of the process. Mike, incredible workmanship, let his work speaks for him. Adrian, very knowledgeable nsx master tech.

FYI, I went with the 3.5 L NA1.

Wow, it's been a while. I remember when you had just got your turbo intalled. You've gone through a lot in a short year it seems. What do you think of your new setup? I notice you are staying away from forced induction this time.

Danny! You finally got it back! Wow... I don't know how you could've sat there for 11 months without the X to drive around. I'd go through insane withdrawal! It was hard enough for the 2 months after my car was stolen and being repaired. Oh wait... I forgot about that other lovely beast you have in the garage. :) So how's the 3.5L ? I'm really curious to see what the effect is. Tell us more!

Seems like FX typically has a really clean install. Just like the others I'm curious to find out your impressions (names 1/4 mile and overall driveability). I know this isn't all the car is meant for, but 3.5L, wow that's new! I would love to hear how it compares.

Congratulations on the new setup

3.5 Na1 impression

Car drives like it has a comptech SC. Very torquey 3-5k rpm. 215 ft/lb to be exact @ 2500 rpm. Breaking loose of the tires 1st through 3rd gears w/my cheap dunlop 17 tires setup.

She also setup for nitrous, not installed yet. AEM takes care of the management. She running flawlessly. Like oem.

From my experience and situation, I really didn't want a setup that would involve tinkering and worrying about this and that.

Plus, the additional cost of installing another turbo was/is prohibitive.

With my life style and schedule, I just don't have the time to tinker w/turbos. Plus, there is less moving parts for failure (NA).

I just want to get in my car start, drive it, wash it, and do it all over again. Just maintaining your care is bad enough never mind worrying about any other issue your can might have.

Dumb Question..

Um Danny,

This is a dumb question, .. how did you get your NA1 to become a 3.5 L engine?

How did you do that? did you bore your stock 3.0 to 3.5 L? how does it work?

i would love to know.. pls

A word of Appreciation

Danny,

We appreciate you giving us the opportunity to rebuild your NSX. It has been a long road and we would like to thank you for your patience. Your story has been a tragic one but it looks like you are coming out of it ok. We hope you are a happy Cal Coastal NSXer again!

In reference to Danny’s motor, it is not a true 3.5L as we built the motor with nitrous in mind. It is however running high compression custom pistons and has some head work done to it. To achieve the larger displacement we used Darton Sleeves then bored her out. The motor is powered by the AEM EMS and is running flawlessly. As it sits right now we have seen a gain of 62.2rwhp and 56.9ftlbs as indicated on our Dynapacks in Las Vegas. The motor will benefit from a larger throttle body and manifold to really take advantage of the components. In addition, we are running Cats and a 91 OEM exhaust, a more open exhaust would also help it breath a bit more. After smog and registration we plan on re-tuning her. The most important aspect of this project was to get Danny back in his NSX ASAP.
