Fan Blower humming/whining noise fix

I'm a long time observer and my first time contributor. So much for small talk... btw, it's a 1995

I've been hearing the humming noise for awhile and finally decide to clean the fan blower and pix are below of the process.

Disconnect and remove battery

Relay box remove bolt and move to the side

Remove the air pipe, not sure what it for because it was blocking the connector of the fan blower unit

Air pipe removed

Disconnect the clip holding positive battery cable, I just use the needle nose plier to pinch it and remove from bracket

Disconnect the harness of the fan blower unit

There are four bolts holding the blower unit, two on top and two on the bottom

Bottom bolts view

Remove the blower, pull it forward from the left side (passenger side) a little and slide out from the holding pin

Pin holder attached to the heater tube

Front view behind the blower when remove, note some dirt and debris

Fan blower on floor and remove three bolts of motor

Whoala, bunch of crap.. lol

Clean and reinstall in reverse order.

No more humming/whining noise.

Very nicely DIY steps.

Curious, isn't their a paper filter that can be inserted at the mouth of the air pipe rather than the more elaborate air filter design in the cowl? That should help prevent some of the debris - even if it not very efficient as real filter.

The good old rodent home

. Seen a few. I actually had a car that the fan ran full blast, but did not move any air. After I got in there, the entire fan was full of rodent "stuffing" and the fan was a a tube, not a fan! After complete removal of the material it blew like crazy

Did the whining noise occur during acceleration? I've been hearing whining on mine whenever I accelerate. I wasn't sure what the cause was.
