I am new to the forum and would like to say hi to everyone!

Has anyone experienced fading on their door latches? Can they be removed and painted or should I replace them? I am in the Boston area is someone can recommend a shop to go to. Thanks!

The latch is the part inside your door that grabs the striker and holds your door closed.
I think you are referring to the outside door handle with the little "NSX" emblem in it?
It's not painted and you could probably try
cleaning it by rubbing it with a cleaning/polish wax that should be available in any K-mart, parts store etc..
When cleaning somthing on your car always start with the least abrasive, weakest cleaner and work your way up so not to damage the finish.
Follow up with a good coat of regular wax.
If it doesn't stay that way you may have to to replace them. Something like a too agressive cleaner might of got on them.

Hope to see you at some NE events. http://www.nsxuppereast.com/index.html
We have one in Nashua hosted by local NSXer Rich Hutte. See the site.

Surf the FAQ on this site for great info on just about everything on your car.
Welcome.

I think these *are* painted. They are certainly paint-able as seen by those who have painted them to match their body color. Talk to your dealer or a good bodyshop they may be able to advise you.

From the factory they are not painted.
You can paint them and that would be much less money than to replace them.(Wow these are EXPENSIVE)$400-700 list depending on the side and year! Good suggestion Gary! It's much better than buying these babys new.
I still think you shouold try cleaning them first. It's easier, cheaper and still can be refinished as a last resort. Use a little elbow grease as they say.
You could come to our Lime Rock gathering over Memorial Day and I'll show you how. I always carry cleaning/polish stuff.

Do you know if they are coated in some way? Because I scratched mine and it sure looks like a scratch in a painted surface. I'm confused.

pbassjo, I am on Rich Hutt's email list, will I receive info. about the Lime Rock event through that? Thanks for the pricing info on that part, it does seem over priced for such a small peice.
