Factory Gold Gen 2 NSX

Wow, looks great in gold......

My local dealer just got a 2019 NSX in orange, so I went and had a look. I have to say it was not what I expected. Very bright, but I was expecting a pearl like depth like the red and blue, but it was just regular paint. No offense to anyone who owns orange, but it was a bit of a disappointment.....

When the orange was announced there was speculation about it possibly being an Anduro color

Considering the backlash (unwarranted in my opinion) regarding the upcharge for the Anduro blue and red, I can understand them going with a standard paint process for the orange

I haven't seen Thermal Orange in person. Can anyone who has say whether it shows as much pearl effect as Imola Orange did?

Imola Orange (like all first gen pearls) wasn't an extra cost option. The $700 charge for Thermal Orange Pearl is more than Ford gets for Andaro pearl colors on some models.

WTF???? Why does the image end up sideways??????????????

It looks solid orange inside. I did not see any trace of metallic in the paint inside, so it must be real fine. It seemed really dark, but I can see that it could liven up in the sunshine. It certainly did not impress when looking at it in indoor lighting. Very dark.......

In this case the factory did a gold one for an anniversary in AUS, along with a range of other products.

The factory didn't do the gold. From that Autoblog article: "Honda went out-of-house for these special vehicles, sourcing a Melbourne company called Vinyl Wraps and Graphics. Honda says the look is created with a gold chrome layer first, followed by a clear satin film to dampen the shininess. Furthermore, certain pieces were wrapped in satin black, such as the badges and wheels on the NSX."

Thanks tom, my bad for not reading the whole piece

I still think the Blue looks the best ... however, I haven't seen a blue one in person yet ..... (have only seen Red (both), Black, White, Casino white and white .. )

Every color was well represented at NSXPO San Francisco this past year. Hopefully all the colors will be available at the next NSXPO in DC in 2019!
