Which exhaust system out there is going to sound the closest to an F-1 car. RM, Finistar, Dali dual canister, Comtech, Arc, Taitec or Gruppe M system 1 or System -2 without cats??? I don't think the HKS or RSR are available anymore.

Damn, you are asking for too much!
we don't rev half as high as F-1 cars (18000rpm), no amount of stainless steel pipes can get our car to scream like a Jordan Honda coming down the front straight at Monza. hehehe, I would recommend Taitec, because I have one, and I love it!

My club for infos on my NSX.

Besides the sheer revs, the toughest (read "nearly impossible") thing to overcome without destroying efficiency is the inherent sound of a V6. Like many people, I love the packaging advantages of the V but much prefer the sound of a straight 6. (or V-12 of course).

IMO, the RM exhaust at the Japanese Spoon exhuast sound most unlike a V6. They are low and rumbly.

George's Taitec, while blindingly or would the proper word be deafening loud... is the closest thing to F1 that I've heard (add another 9k RPM, and it would be close).

I'm not familiar with the Taitec exhaust, but I like everything I've heard in this post. Could someone please point me in the right direction to learn more about Taitec? Thanks.

A turbo with straight pipes, just like an F1 car. ; )

It does, holy shit that car is loud and sounds bad ass!!! David, you should post a .wav file of it...

Yeh, David please post a wave file of your car revving up. I would like to load it and use it as my "you have mail" sound. I'm on a cable connection so my computer makes a sound everytime mail arrives. THAT sound would be great.

Honda put a lot of effort into making the STOCK exhaust system sound like their F1 car at high revs only. While many supercars (Lambo, Ferrari etc) are referred to as '30 minute cars' because of loud exhausts; Honda designed the NSX to be the quietest at low rpm (for highway cruising) and the loudest at high rpm (for aural enjoyment). My stock system still sounds great 10 years after purchase!

I just ordered Chris's Taitec Parallel exhaust hoping this is the best exhaust system for the money. I am really excited to hear the new sound from my car as well. Chris, do you have any wav files of the parallel exhaust? I've heard Georges center-out one already, but I'm assuming these aren't as loud. I like the loud aggressive sound, but not so loud that I can't drive it at Laguna Seca.

Hi Kenji --

I'll have sound samples up in the next week or two of the GT exhaust.

BTW, your new avatar is one of my favorites!
