1) With regard to an exhaust that will primary be for track purposes, which after market exhaust would you recommend.( RM, comptech, ect.) Although, my nsx is still street legal, I am lot concerned with the loud nose because it will rarely be used for “driving around town”

Also is comptech, the only manufacturer of a quality NSX headers?

2) Does anyone else’s left “outside” leg hurt at the end of a long track day. With the NSX’s narrow cockpit, I tend to really apply pressure on my leg on turns.

thanks

1) I have a custom made exhaust that meets the new german track noise regulations - also available for you if you're willing to pay tax and shipping.

2) I had that too, but removed the door panels and parts of the middle console - no more hurting now.

I have three words for you, weight, weight, and weight. If you are going to change exhausts and you are tracking, then look at the ones that weigh the least. Check out both SOS and Dali, but here are the most likely candidates.

If money is of concern, then post for a used Taitec Dream28. Dual exhaust with very little muffling, only weighs 12 pounds and bypasses the cats, so you lose over 50# by making the swap. Great sound on the track, but not so good for the neighborhood.

A little bit more money, and even less weight is the newer race exhaust from Taitec. Single out, and only 9#. Can be found on the SOS site.

Probably the ideal is the ARC Titanium exhaust as it only weighs 12#, has a nice tone, can still be driven in the neighborhood, but costs an arm and a leg.

Taitec makes headers, as does DC Sports.

You need a harness bar and a harness belt, to firmly hold you into the seat. This way, you do not have to hold yourself into the seat by pressing with your left leg against

Respectfully, this has nothing to do with the relative width of the NSX's cockpit, compared to other cars.

I strongly recommend that you listen to any exhausts you are considering before buying and installing one.

If you are not in a hurry to put one on in the next few months, keep in mind that there will be over 100 NSXs about an hour from you this coming October, which will be the perfect opportunity to hear their exhausts, meet the owners, etc.

Yes. (I do not have a harness like Andy recommends, but I believe his advice - that the use of a harness will prevent this - is correct.)

In regards to the suggested recommended exhaust above, the Dream28, you have to remember that his is a center exit exhaust. Which means if your rear bumper & valence is stock then you'll have to cut it up to make the exhaust fit.

Just an heads up since there are some center exit exhaust on the market.

Also, it should be noted that the ARC does not replace the catalytic converters (unlike the Dream28 which does) only the muffler/cat back portion, so if you want to replace the cats that's an additional piece.

Be sure to read everything about the exhaust(s) you are considering, and be sure to do a search on here as well since I'm sure one or more have installed it already.
