Exhaust Noise Test Results

Hi,

I just had a Fujitsubo SuperTi fitted to my car. It sounds great and is much nicer than the stock pipes. However, I now need the car to pass local regulations, which is not so fun. The exhaust has a JASMA mark on it, but they seem to want to see noise test results.

Anybody with any ideas as to how I might get that noise test result and have the exhaust approved? I've written to Fujitsubo and JASMA and I've not received any response thus far.

Thanks.

I'm not sure about singapore, but over here they would have the right do test any car's sound level if a other than OEM exhaust is fitted.

Officially EC exhausts are required in europe although many country's will just see if it isn't too loud at stationary/idle.

JASMA mark is only for Japan just as DOT and CARB is only for the US.
TUV and ECC is more generally and apply to large parts of Europe,
GOCA requirements are separate and only apply to Belgium (those are a big PITA)

I doubt that the Fujitsubo company has had any official noise test results done. You can do this informally yourself however if you have an Apple iPhone or sound dB meter. You'll need to find out what the legal limit for sound is on cars and how they measure it. Here in California, the limit is 95 dB(A). Where (A) is the weighting.

I use this app on my iPhone and it's pretty accurate and only costs $1.99 USD.
