Exhaust life - How long does it last?

I've been looking at several aftermarket exhausts for the NSX.
Not because I need to, but just for looks, weight differences and sound and I was wondering just how long the OEM exhaust will last. From the looks it seems to be a very well made (if heavy) piece of hardware.
And how long do the aftermarket exhaust last in comparison?

Most aftermarket exhausts are made of stainless-steel. I believe the stock exhaust is also. I would expect them to last the life of the car unless they are mechanically damaged.

Am I wrong?

My car gets heavy track use, which tends to stress the car more than street use. I also like to keep my car "perfect", meaning that as soon as a problem manifests itself, I get it fixed. I have run into most of the (few) common problems that afflict the NSX, except the A/C problems. I have not yet had any reason to replace the original stock exhaust on my '91 after 12.5 years and 52K total miles including 8500 track miles.

If you wait for it to fail before you replace it, you'll probably be waiting a very long time! They are pretty sturdy.
