I have done search on this topic, but couldn't really find the thread that answers my question.

When you went to a shop to have your exhaust installed (I don't have a garage with a lift), how did you take the exhaust to the shop? Or how did you carry your old exhaust back?

Do they (the new one or the old one) fit in the NSX trunk? Should I just take the second car to the shop (my wife is going to give me a hard time about this :o )?

Well, I didn't use a shop to help with the exhaust install, I just did it in the driveway with a jack and 2 jackstands - however, from looking at the size of the stock exhaust, I wouldn't think there would be a problem with wrapping the exhaust in an old bedspread or a couple of large towels, and putting it in the passenger seat.

I doubt the new or old exhaust would fit in the trunk; while the distance between tips should fit, when you look at the bends going to the tips, those probably won't make it into the trunk opening.

This sounds like a great plan!

Thank you!!

They will fit fine in the passanger compartment lying on the floor. Wrap in a heavy blanket, and you'll be fine. Which exhaust did you decide on?

OEM exhaust (C30A) will fit in your trunk if you take off one of the tips. My GruppeM will not fit in the trunk so I wrapped it with a rug and fit it in the passenger seat/floor.

Those darn smog checks.......

What exhaust are you going to put on?

When I did mine I used 2 cars, no way am I going to put that thing in the passenger's seat area. Also, remember that the factory exhaust is heavy and you wouldn't want it moving around while you're blasting off in your newly revived NSX. :)

I had mine shipped to the acura dealer where it was installed with my headers...no extra charge for the install of the exhaust ...cost was 250us.........install of the exhaust should be less then 100 bucks.

Or do what I've done with mine.

I had a friend of mine with the '02 A4 sedan (not wagon) to drop it off at the shop and the new exhaust fit in perfectly (in the trunk with back seats folded down) while still wrapped in the box. I recommend you to transport the exhaust with your other car back and forth better than risking damaging your NSX. I'd have done so if the dang box would fit in my Beater S.
