Engine Missing

I was wondering if anyone has had this problem..
My car was sitting for about 2 weeks and went to start it and the battery was dead. Got a new battery and the car started up but when I rev it up it rev up but then seems to drop way down then goes back to normal.. Any help would be grateful..

Whew! From your subject line, I thought you were going to say that when you tried to start it up after two weeks and it was dead, you discovered that the engine was missing.
