HI Forum,

Anyone know the best way to repair the engine deck cover for a 99NSX-T ?
I've had my 99 about 2 yrs, and it's a bit of an eye sore where some of the fuzz has came off in a few places. Someone must have had something back there or perhaps heat affected it over time. The cover is fine other than that. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem or had it reapaired ?

I asked a similar question here and never got a good answer. I'm still very interested in EXACTLY mathing the fuzz, but haven't found info true to the material used by Honda. Good luck finding this info or persuing another fix. An easy option might be to find a 1994+ NSX-T owner with a Comptech supercharger (requires special cover to fit) that is willing to part with their stock cover.

Scrap off those fuss and paint it mate black. Better still take it off.

You can try to find someone that is doing a DIY mesh or lexan engine cover and ask them to send you some of the fuzz or a piece from the cut out. Then can sprinkle it over the bald parts and spray paint it with black matte paint. I've never done this myself, but I have seen serveral threads that talk about it. Search for engine cover under DIY forum.

Another option is flocking posted by Malibu Rapper. see Link:

Hope this helps.

The fuzz on my was pretty deteriorated as well. I was able to brush /scrape it off with a very stiff brush. After that, as suggested, it's easy to paint.

I am working on a getting price from a boat builder to sand off the fuzz and carbon fiber the cover. should know in a couple weeks. I think it might look nice!
