It's actually a road kill dicer for anything sucked into the right side air duct. Honda dropped it after PETA complained.

All Nsx's have a dual cooling systems water and air. In the 91-94 cars the engine compartment cooling fan operates in conjunction with the radiators electric cooling fan in high mode. It also helps cool the alternator as noted in the coffee table book when it was first produced.

If you had two fans and transferred them to the front Bonet similar to the F-50 and Type R hood you could produce more downforce.

Or two per side to reduce side winds. :biggrin:

All 1991-94 US models had the fan
All 1995+ US Model Automatic Trans Only had the fan, this includes up to 2005

Hmm I wonder what the reasoning was not have the fan on the Manual cars 95-05? So none of the ROW manual cars from 91-94 had the fan?

#1 reason it that, for the most part, it is completely useless. If you are not in the Desert, it NEVER comes on.

My comment does not imply the ROW does not have it, I just do not know.

I remember having a fan in my 91 and now I have no fan on my 95... curious!

makes me wonder if we could make a cold air intake type thing for the right side that would force cool air into the engine bay? And then tweak the settings somehow that the fan would come on sooner rather than later?

I pulled mine off last summer when I changed my fuel filter....left it off since I read the post here about it never really being used....no problems at all.
