Just curious; has anyone either altered the temp setting on the cooling fan or installed a swith to control on/off cycles? I have yet to observe it come on, yet did a voltage and ohm test with possitive results. My other thought is that if used with switch, it could be ducted to flow across the headers and reduce radiant heat. I live in S. FL and it gets hot from May through October, real hot! The passenger side vent and fan could reduce the engine bay heat substanially in city driving although it may be moot on the highway. Any thoughts?

I also live in S. Florida and I don't really see a need for a fan to dissipate the heat. I've never had a problem with overheating and I've never seen my temp gauge go past the mark below the halfway point. What are you looking to gain specifically?

The engine bay fan is turned on along with the radiator fan going to high speed when the coolant temp is above 194 degrees. You can wire it up any way you like but the fan was deleted on newer cars do the Honda engineers must have decided that it was unnecessary. It is also removed when you install a Comptech Supercharger.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I was refering to the engine bay as opposed to the engine (block). And yes , I agree that the engine doesn't need the fan. That being said, the engine bay DOES get hot in the summer and high temps DO accelerate degradation of certain plastic and rubber component. Hi Doc, we had a great time on Saturday! Thanks for getting us out of the traffic jam on I-95  We enjoyed the scenic route!!
