I have a '93 that has gone from intermitted window operation to no operation. After going through the shop trouble shooting matrix procedure I determined that I am getting 10.3 volts to the window motor (should this be battery voltage?) when activating the master switch. The passenger side window does not work from the master or the passenger side switch.
All fuses check out OK as well as the window relay under the hood. These problems seem to be escalating due to the age of the car. I recently replaced the main relay because the tac and speedo were going crazy along with intermitted drops in engine performace. Both problems (window and idle)still persist.
Following shop procedures I got the window motor to work by using direct battery power but its operation is extremely slow. Tonight I plan on removing the window lift motor/system, give it a good greasing, and see if it helps. I also replaced the window relay in the door panel because is was buzzing when I used the master switch. This did not help and I still get the buzzing sound (but only if the lift motor is connected). And yes, I did check if the master lock-out was on. Nope, everything checks out OK.
My last check will be of the window motor "pulser" but I doubt that this is the cause of all of these woes.
Any other suggestions????
