i bought and nsx with an aftermarket alarm installed.there were so many wires, so i start removing all of non-oem wires.

now, car doesn't start. i turn the key, i hear the oil pump , but the starter doesn't work.

i found some wires cut, in a grey connector near the dash fuse box, but i can't find in the manual what is that connector.
i'll attach a picture if you can help identifying this connector, anyway, i must weld those wires again..

If it started and ran before you removed the aftermarket alarm system, you probably have opened the circuit for the starter. The aftermarket alarm creates an open circuit so the starter won't work unless the alarm is disarmed.

Best bet is to determine the make and model of the alarm system you removed and try to get an online copy of the install manual so you can see what was done to your original wiring to install it. Then you might be able to find where you have a break in your starter circuit by retracing your steps backwards to locate wires that you have disconnected.

Also, download the NSX manual from the Wiki so you can see the wiring diagrams and the locations of wires in the car.

Good luck!

thanks for your reply.

i already download the manual, but i can't find which connector is the grey one, which cas 3-4 wires cut.i'll check for continuity in the ignition switch and the weld those cut wires and then check again for continuity in the ignition switch.

i hate those butcher jobs, i spend good amount of time reversing wiring bs on my car. it is worth it though.

The previous post was right on,,, follow the wires from the ignition,, there will be one wire cut and spliced into a black relay box,, the kind you can buy at radio shack,, its about 2 inchX 2 inch it has 4 wires going into it,, that is why your NSX will not start,, look at the wires the two wires that are factory reconnect them with out the relay ( acts as a middle man),, try it your car will start,, my 2 cents

thanks for your reply shawn.

can anyone help me identifying grey connector of the picture? i read the manual, but i can't find it.

If you can find the matching color wires in the vicinity of the gray harness, you can just reconnect them. As for what that gray connector is for, it's tough to identify it because the picture is zoomed in so close. Make a note of all the different wires going into that harness and then review the NSX wiring diagrams to find a harness that matches color for color.

If I were you, I'd first work on getting the ignition sorted so you can start the car. Then you might see what accessories are not working. That might tell you what the gray harness is for.

thanks for your advice.

engine started. there was a bypass onthe white-black wire of the starter relay.

now, i hace another issues, rpm gauge not working.

thanks for your help.

what else did this NSX have installed that you have removed? did it have an gauge pod on one of the pillars? cuz I have seen them splice into the rpm signal to send that pulse to a gauge or FCON system,,
