recently purchassed a set [2nd hand from prime member] of these springs which are to lower the car 1.25in ...on pulling them out today and handing them over to my wheel guy..we noticed when standing them up on the floor, the 2 fronts [shorter ones] were the same height...yet the rears were different from each other by one 'extra' compressed coil...one has 4 'open' coils then 4 compressed coils ..the other has 4 open coils and 5 compressed coils...I did a quick search on Eibachs but found nothing to answer this ?..each/all of the springs is coded with same code so I assuming matching set..

So would it be that the back springs are slightly [~0.5in] different to each other to account for the drivers/engine /transmission weight distribution..is this assessment right ? If so which side of the car does it go..my NSX is a 93 auto and righthand drive...wheels with new tires are all set to go, as is exhaust, and the springs too for tomorrow morning ..this spring 'length' ? has come up late in the day, and has thrown us a curved ball.....she's first up the hoist in the morning...but I don't want the guys pulling the suspension apart to figure it out ..[which is the other way of finding out, I guess] .., I don't want to be paying for "discovery" time ...so any assistance pls

Thanks

Bump URGENT...someone must know ??
I need some thoughts and/or opinions as to which side of the car the longer of the rear springs should be fitted ....93 auto RHD...I've done searching, found discussion on Eibachs but nothing to the ? at hand

Dave

I originally had the Eibachs in my car, I don't recall the rear springs being different lengths when i removed them, but the measured Right Rear ride height was higher than the left if thats any help.

I had the pro kit also and experienced the same. Left side is tad lower. Front set and rear set were the same lengths side to side. Did you buy the springs used?

Thanks fpr coming back to me ..and yes they are 2nd hand but were only on a couple of mths wear before a different setup was installed...

..so trying to understd the above for my application if yours are LHD and that side was lower ..then if we are RHD then we should do the opposite ie our drivers side RHD be a tad lower ??

....BUT would it not follow to have whichever drivers side slightly higher ..so that when seated the car should then balance.... ??? , but taking from your examples it would appear Honda has set it so that the drivers side rear is lower to the other side...hmmph !!!

I checked FAQ under suspension, Eibachs shows car heigths [gaps] after install but L and R rear heights ended up being the same ??

Thanks again ..anyone else want to chime in...
