Early NSX Narrator Passes Away

Yesterday, actor James Coburn passed away at the age of 74. His long career featured many memorable films, including the "Our Man Flint" series in the starring role, and "Affliction", for which he won the Academy Award for best supporting actor. He was also known for his rich, deep voice. Long-time NSX fans will remember him for his voice-over narration of the Acura commercials at the time of the NSX introduction in 1990, and of the six-minute video sent to new NSX buyers when the NSX first went on sale (shown here - 108 Mb, dial-up users beware).

For younger people (like myself) who don't remember names so well but prefer images, here's a photo of Mr.Coburn. He was also in the Arnie movie "Eraser" as a good cop.

For us old guys "The Great Escape" & "The Magnificent Seven" and I also think he did a voice over in "Monsters Inc" He was one of the classics in which few are left.

Yes, in "Monsters Inc." he was the voice of the CEO, Henry J. Waternoose III.

His personal training video DVD collection with Bruce Lee is priceless to me
