WOW!!! I just bought one and the amount of pet hair it picks up compared to my hoover is unbelievable. I actually cleaned the vaccum twice so far after using my $550 vacuum!!! It does look cool. I can't believe the difference it makes in cleaning. I also got a Honeywell air filter purifier for my home and the air does seem better... I guess all the time I spend at my house makes me crazy too:biggrin:

Yep, these are cool, and I believe it's been talked about on prime before too! (Beware the F-Nazi) My gf picked one up from Costco last year and it works really well! The only issue is that sometimes when you lean it far back it makes this loud noise like a geared belt or something is slipping - other than that it's great! Considering Costco's return policy, she should take it back to and exchange it for a new one, since it's been doing that since the start, and is almost certainly a defect.

The other thing is the rolley-brush bar can get totally wrapped with long hair. Nothing a pair of scissors wont fix though, you just have to cut it all off.

I used mine for about a month and noticed the same thing. Couldn't believe how much stuff was on floor that the old vacuum wasn't picking up. I find myself using it all the time because it is so light and powerful.

I have one too - there is a thread somewhere about this being the NSX of vacuums!

I got mine under $200 for a refurb with a 6 month warranty and it was a no brainer! Mine is the purple one with all the attachments. The dedicated floor tool is a little bit of a PITA and you have to watch out to make sure everything is / stays connected. It is easy to hit something and knock something loose and you will loose suction (one of the biggest reasons for returns from what I hear). Anyway - awesome how much it picks up and how easy it is to change the canister.

I'll let you in on a secret for my favorite vacuum in the world. This little baby for $42

This thing is cordless, hangs on the wall, and has a good battery life. You have to leave the floor spinner on - even on floors or it wont work. It works great for the nightly quick jobs and works really well on carpets too. Not as good as the Dyson but until you go cordless you wont believe how convenient it is. I can disconnect the hand tool and use it as a traditional hand vac for the cars / etc. I only break out the Dyson every other week with this little guy in between. Actually it does almost as good on the regular tile/hardwood floors as the Dyson.

I have the Animal Dyson. It works great. Has anyone used the carpet treatment powder that comes with the vaccum? I have not tried it yet and was wondering if it was worth trying.

If you see how they sold the first ones in Japan for $2000 and they could not keep them on the shelves. (This was their first prototype under a different name)

As we all know the Japanese are very meticulous people and for them to pay $2000 for a Dyson speaks for itself. The consumer reports is BS... Go to Amazon and read the reports of people from all over the country. This is on par with TIVO for me.

What's a big roller like you doing manual labor? Where is the college student servant/love slave that you were gonna hire to feed you grapes while you sit by the pool? :D

It is too cool to see how the Dyson works!! I actually cleaned the dust from the inside of the vacuum off!! Imagine that I didn't want my Vacuum dusty:tongue:

The servant idea is still a good one but will probably have to wait until I build my custom with a casita. I will just Nextel the servant to bring me orange juice or whatever... (For real)!!!
