I just got back from doing a dyno run on my 1995 NSX-T at Cybernation Motorsports (great facility, btw...very impressed with their shop and staff). After 3 quick runs and minor tuning with a A'pexi S-AFC to an Air/Fuel ratio of 12:1 (not enough time to tune further), I made 251.2rwhp and 191.8ft-lbs.

I have the following mods:

- DC Sports Headers
- Comptech Test Pipes
- Taitec JGTC Exhaust
- K&N Cone Filter
- Denso Iridium Spark Plugs
- running Mobil-1 10w30 Tri-Syn Oil
- stock flywheel and clutch
- 5 speed OEM tranny

I suppose I should also note that I am running 17x9.5 rear Forgeline RS wheels with 265/40-17 S-03 PP tires...not sure of exact weight. The NSX-T has 99,000 miles, and original coil packs.

Does this sound about right, or does it seem low? All numbers calibrated for altitude, etc.

Thanks in advance,

Andie

Seem a little bit low for me but I am not an expert !

One of my friend made 267rwhp with his 91NSX on a Dynojet with just DC Sports headers and Remus exhaust and 18" wheels with 265/35/18 tires !

I plan to dyno my car soon too before I install DC Sports headers !

I have the following mods :

255/40/17 S03
Remus exhaust
Comptech cat bypass pipes
RM Cold intake

FYI, I won a 1000meter race with standing still start against him !

I will keep you informed about my dyno results .

Andie, I think you had some issues with the O2 sensor, no? Did you get it fixed before the dyno?

Remeber guys,

Comparing two dyno runs on two cars at two different times, humidity, ambient temp, is really not very meaningful.

Yup! I was working on the car the past weekend on the lift, and looked up...and the wiring for the O2 sensors that the tech who installed the headers did didn't look right...so I switchen then around and PRESTO...fixed everything...

So I'm going to change plugs (which are probably fouled from running rich all this time...), do a valve adjustment, and redyno...

I was pissed about the honda/acura tech who installed the headers and couldn't get the wiring on the O2 sensors correct...and blamed the poor running on bad gas (same tank as when I drove into his bay), and on everything else...and then paid $500 out to 3 other techs to check it out, and they couldn't find anything wrong...so much for paying people (other than Mark Basch, Acura of Brookfield, Davis Acura, Bob Fournier, Cybernation, and Barney) to do work on the NSX... I paid that guy $75/hr just to mess up my car...not to mention all the gas I wasted running rich, and extra oil changes to ensure the oil didn't get diluted...AAARGHHH!!!!

Switzerland...what was the temperature outside when your friend dyno-tested his 1991 NSX?

Down here in south Florida...87F and humid...I'm not sure hot well the dyno calibrates for temperature and humidity...will have to check...

I have no idea about the temperature but I am 100% sure that it was much colder than your south Florida climate !

Andie, come in Switzerland and you will have much more HP !

No, forget that ... I think with your VERY LOUD NSX it would take something like 1 minute for the Swiss police to put you in jail !

Have Fun !

I received a pleasant phone call from Cybernation Motorsports...they told me that the computer program wasn't calibrated exactly right for my dyno run...and after they calibrated it last night and re-ran my dyno through the computer, it was actually putting down 257.Xrwhp, and not 251.xrwhp...so it looks like I should be able to get into the mid-260's quite easily! Certainly, I am happy about this...

Yeah...first run was at 11:1...then I tuned it to 12:1 and picked up 6rwhp.

I thought 14.7:1 is stoich, which is best for fuel efficiency...this is what the OEM computer goes for while cruising. I thought max power was at 13.1:1...no?

But under WOT, the OEM computer was running it really rich...the 11:1 I mentioned before. For me to tune it to 14:1...heck, I'd need to tune the APEX into the -12% area...
