Just picked up The duPont Registry 2005 Exotic car buyers guide. Listen to this line from the NSX description:

"Yes, it's still a joy to drive, with its screaming V-6 and supercar handling. But the Fisher-Price interior and vinyl-look leather doesn't quite match up with the car's lofty eighty-nine-grand sticker."

In the pros/cons they list:

Pros: Rev-happy V6, sensational handling.
Cons: Invisible styling, cheapo interior.

I don't get it? I could totally understand them reaming the car on its lack of horsepower updates over the years or heck even any kind of major styling changes (even though it's a classic body style that still looks modern today!). But the "cheapo fisher price interior"?! Give me a break!! Have they looked at the interior of the vette or the crossfire or the viper that they also have listed in their guide? Compared to them, the NSX's interior is a freaking Maybach...

I agree. 100%. The NSX has a great interior. It is dated in that it doesn't have a digital odo etc. or a CD player, but the layout is great. I suppose they could do an all leather interior like ferrari's. That might be nicer.

But, if the NSX has a fisher-price interior, what do they call the vettes???????

I don't mean to flame but I think the NSX interior is very plain. That's why I like it so much because it will never go out of style because it never was. Also, I think the leather is cheap and whatnot. Who cares? The car is overall pretty awesome. You want a nice interior? Go aftermarket. Comparing a Corvette's interior to an NSX's is like comparing a BMW's to a Mercedes'.

Didn't they write the same thing last year? Oh right, they didn't change the Nsx much again this year either. :(

I think someone wrote about how last year's Dupont comments may have been because they tested a yellow interior car. That could have made them think toy company.

I don't know about the invisible styling either............... For a 10year+ old car, its still pretty sweet and commands attention on the road, as many of you would attest to.

Ya its the only car ive driven that makes people on the side of the road cheer :D .

In contrast, there's been quite a few extremely positive articles about the NSX recently in actual automotive press. Sort of with an "end of an era" vibe. The Dupont Registry is in my mind more of a glossy autotrader.

Also, not sure if I trust a company who produces "celebrity car magazine" featuring Hulk Hogan as a celebrity....
