This is an interesting item. Comptech makes a "high-flow" racing cat for the Acura NSX. The story I heard is that they apparently start with a set of cats for some big truck, and weld on the proper flanges to fit the NSX exhaust system.
This item started life out as a set of Comptech High Flow Cats ($800 new). We raced them to death, to the point where the cat material inside totally disentegrated and blew out the back!!
What you have left looks like a cat but is really essentially just a completely hollow "test pipe". You get better exhaust flow than with cats.
Don't get caught on the street with the highway patrol's "visual inspection" emissions program running easy to spot test pipes on your NSX! This item is not legal for street use and may not be used on any public highway. FOR RACING USE ONLY!!!!
