Well, it is a freaking cold day in dallas, but that did not stop me from taking a drive to see this NSX.

The car looks to be in incredible shape. They have service records for EVERYTHING. It is a "clean" NSX and it also has some Mods.

It has a new transmission done in 99, new clutch in 99, 98 OEM wheels, Greddy Air Intake, B&B exhuast and B&B headers. I think he also said it has a chip in it.

The Car Dyno's at HP 259.4, TQ 195.9.

It felt really great to drive. No rattles and very solid. The engine felt VERY powerful and the clutch was perfect.

The only thing wrong was a tiny scratch on the right hand side above the wheel, and some minimal wear inside.

They are asking 29,500 firm.

Here is a pic.

I was very impressed with the car.

Don't let the high mileage deter you from getting an NSX if it's in great condition. I've seen many high mileage NSXes during various club meetings that were in excellent condition, mine included (just broke 90K).
Just know that high mileage will make it harder to sell or you will sell for less when the time comes. It's more a value and market issue than a reliability issue.

If you're sure the car is in excellent condition, do not let slightly high miles deter you. Chances are it will run strong with no major issues until the day you sell it. If paying an extra 3-4K for one with low miles as well is more than you would like to spend now, then don't let it stop you from buying the car of your dreams.

It evens out in the end anyway. You spend less now for higher miles... you'll get less later when you sell. You spend an extra 3-4K now and it may sell for an extra 3-4K in five years at 70K miles instead of 150K.
I would spend what is comfortable and enjoy.

Keep in mind that that car is going to need a major service (120K) soon. Typical cost is $800-1000.

You can always use that as a negotiating point, asking them to do the service on it for you or to lower the price by that much...

Yeah, looks like it just went through a pretty heavy hail storm. Look in the cracks in the pavement; full of ice. Weird. And why was this picture taken? If it were for a reason of showing it off or selling it, then why didn't they remove the piles of ice by the windshield?

The pictures were taken after I drove it today. The weather is absolutely awful in TX today. That is why the car looks so bad. Normally it is spotless.

Ken, I talked to them about the 120K service, they quoted 1000 dollars and they usually get a 10% discount with their local dealer. They would have to get that done before I look at getting the car.

The NSX really does look like its in great condition. I would love to get a lower mileage car, but we all know how high the price gets. Also, the car has a lot of money in mods. (98 wheels 3K, intake, header, exhaust, chip 2K).

Anyway, I am really thinking hard on this one. It was by far the nicest NSX I have driven, and it pulled a LOT harder than the 92 I drove w/ 80K miles.

If the car passes inspection and they are willing to play ball on the 120k service, I think you should go for it.

Are you planning on putting crazy miles on the car? Personally, I think the engine can go forever if it is well maintained.

Another thing to consider is that this car made it to 117k and felt strong to you. It must have been pretty well maintained to have made it to this point sounding and performing well...

Incidentally, isn't "ice in Dallas" one of the signs of the apocalypse??? *shudder*

Actually, Dallas/Fort Worth seems to get a lot of ice. Now, real snow on the ground in Austin (around 3 hours south of Dallas) - I think that *is* one of the official signs...

I can get you pictures of my car, coated in grime (I have to park it in the street, so the '86 Firebird can sit in the garage), but no ice...

Would that make you feel better?

Does anyone else have a B&B exhaust or headers on their NSX? I haven't heard of B&B before..

I believe B&B makes them for RM Racing so the Headers are RMs and sold through them.

If that car were around here I would jump at it....youre very right about the $$ into the mods...about 5k (wheels, headers, exhaust, etc..) alone worth the higher miles- oh yeah the 120k service too...

Yeah.. the mods are really nice. He also has the bra and the car cover. If he gets the 120K service done first, I will offer 28,500 and go from there.

Just found this one... Sounds like almost the same car, only 1 year older and 30K less miles..

91 NSX, Black/Ivory, 88K, Clean & well-maintained. Always garaged & pampered. Has 97 style rims & lots of upgrades - Remus exhaust, comptech headers, KN intake, etc. Will guarantee mechanical soundness. Asking $29,500 or make offer.
