on a uk car the lenses on the fog lamps are white and so are the bulbs.on my car the fogs dont make that much difference to the available light in front of the car,but it does light up the ground right in front of the car and to the right and left.

There are no factory fog lights for the NSX, either as standard equipment or as an option. Not in North America, anyway.

The Canadian market NSX comes with daytime running lights but they are not the same thing as fog lights.

What is the model of the Piaas you are running? Are they HID? Are the fogs the model that fit perfectly in the opening of the bumper?

I agree with James on this assessment...

Here's a link to them: http://www.scienceofspeed.com/products/exterior_performance_products/NSX/Honda/fog_lamp_kit/

Aloha.....My PIAA are rectangular 2"x4" and light up 25 ft each side of my car and about 200 ft in front of me. I can drive ok with them alone and no headlights........they are not HID and cost about $180...........The OEM's are being offered to me from a guy in Switzerland but I think I'll pass...if anyone wants them he's asking $200.I found the wire clip to plug them into near the turn signal...is that all that's needed?...Maui Guy

Hello everybody, it is a friend of mine that is selling them... they are Honda NSX OEM foglights. The one that come standard on the NSX around here. He has lights and brackets.

Hi,
I'm also from Europe and almost always travel with my foglights on. I do that to make sure I get seen by those drivers who might otherwise literally overlook my car.
It also seems to make people go faster out of my way

, even when I don't intend to do that.
However, the European OEM-foglights hardly lightup the road ahead of you, it's more to the right and left. I've ordered a HID-kit just last week and I'm still looking for a foglight-kit to go with it. In the picture-form there is a nice foglight-set to be seen.
It's here: http://www.nsxprime.com/ubb/Forum6/HTML/000555.html

I'm not sure about these lights. I would like my foglights to match the color of my HID-headlights but I don't know if these Sylvania Xenarc will do the trick.

Does somebody in the US knows if the wiring for the OEM foglights is already there?
I imagine that since in Japan and Europe they are standard it is possible that in the US it is not removed... somebody knows?

What are foglights supposed to do? Make it easier for you to see in the fog? or make it easier for oncoming traffic to see you? I've got them on my RL (yellow ones) and they can only be on when the headlights are on lowbeam. I've tried them in the fog during daytime & nighttime conditions and they don't seem to do didly squat for how well I can see in the fog. I can see the road near my car turns yellow, but that's about it. Would they work better if they were on and the headlights were off, I don't know because my car won't allow that condition. I do understand why they are off when the highbeams are on, because high beams shouldn't be used in the fog as they only blind you instead of allowing you to see further.

Hey, does anyone want to reply to my last post. I am genuinely interested in finding out what foglights are supposed to do, and the proper way they should be used, as my one & only experience with them is less than what I would have expected.

I think they are used in order to make you a lot more visible to other drivers without blinding you or them (they are place so low because of this). I use them also during anormal day because like daily driving lights. It is enough that you avoid a collison once in your life because of using them to justify the use... IMO.

Fog lights are intended to help you see in the fog by projecting light in a low beam pattern (too low to reflect back up at you) but a wider pattern than normal headlights. They are not intended to help when there is no fog.

There are many different kinds of driving lights on the market and many of them are not intended as fog lights and do not have the low wide beam pattern. Based on some of the ones I've seen, their primary purpose seems to be to harrass the driver in front of you.

But the OEM one do not harrass the driver in front of you at all (because they point on the ground, directely in front of the car).

When driving in the fog (almost never with the NSX) I like the fact that I see the other cars coming in my direction a lot better. I think drivers in the other lane are also helped seeing me better...

Gheba, are driving with foglights only, or are the headlight lowbeams on as well. It seems to me, foglights only with headlights off would work better in foggy conditions. Unfortunately, I would have to modify my car's wiring to make that happen.

Fog lights are really helping in heavy rain or when it is snowing because very little light is reflected back to the driver. (and of course in heavy fog....)
But many of the owners claim that they never drive their NSX in rain and definetly not in snow so they should not need these lights then?
I use mine as daytime running lights and when streetcruising in the city at night. I think the car looks better with the headlights down.

Exacetly like Jon, I use them as daytime lights (I repeat, I really like to be better seen by other driver for safety reason... and without blinding them).

nsx4fun, in fog situation you should not use the normal headlight, only the foglights.

True!

The car looks also better with the foglight on!

My HID foglights are bright enough so that I do not need my low beams. I use them as daylight running lights, rain, and fog and during night time driving they are used in conjunction with my headlights so others can see me coming or going. The fog lights emit a bright white light color and my headlights (HID) emit a light blueish tint beam. The highbeams are the same color although I have yet to use those.

Gheba, Thanks. I thought that was how they wee supposed to work. I wonder why my RL won't allow it. It may be some stupid legal requirement in CA that driving with foglights only is illegal. We have an idiotic legislature here in CA.

Again, Thanks.

Fog lights are designed to illuminate the edges of the road to help you see the lines that divide lanes or mark the edge of a road. Once you have driven in really thick fog with and without the aid of fog lights . . . . you'll understand. The proper way to use them is to use them when there is fog and you are not sure where you are or where you are going.
