i think i have identified a hesitation in my motor...a bad ignition coil(s). that begets a second question...i have an appt to see bernie at davis acura in langhorne, pa (approx 40 miles from my home). will i do any harm by driving the car, bum coil and all, the 40 miles to see dr. bernie and have him fix my girl up?

Theeman,

It sounds like the coil is weak. So it is firing some times, but misfiring other times.

If it was totally bad, you would have a steady miss and you would have alot of unburned fuel in the cats, which is bad.

In your case, if you get the car up to highway speed and it is only slightly missing occasionally, like the stumble you describe, I think it will be OK.

If it is a steady misfire, be cautious, because you could ruin a catalyst that way.

I hope this helps. I just cannot give you a 100% gaurantee. Use your judgement on this one.
