First a question about "driving" glasses. Are they just yellow polarized lenses, or something different?

Anyone have recommendations for good driving glasses? I know Ray-ban made some a while back but just wondering if anyone had a pair they love?

Also, do you know if you can wear driving glasses at night and will that help improve clarity at night as well (reduce glard from oncoming headlights, etc).

I found that the VonZippers ALL DAY(tortoise frame with yellowish tint) work great for driving. Available at surf, skate or snow shops for about 60 bucks.

Serengeti Drivers are the best! Copper coated lenses improve clarity while reducing glare, and are fantastic in the rain or fog. I just wish they were polarized. Plus they make your grass look really green when you get back home, so it looks like you spent a lot of time in the yard instead of detailing your car.

Yes, but can they make the grass look like it's just been mowed? :D

I would strongly recommend polarized glasses for driving in a lighter shade, (the regular gray is too dark IMO).

There are a million brands of glasses out there, mostly just find the style you like, but get the polarized lenses.

I just got the Rose Maui Jims and they are awesome. Better than Serengeti Drivers - I have had two pairs of those - because they are polarized and they have all the acuity improvement for which Serengetis are famous. Plus they are light, light, light, thanks to their titanium frames. And what better metal to reflect the titanium connecting rods going up and down in an NSX engine than titanium? :)

Hey, the metal that goes up and down in an NSX engine is titanium! :)
I have the two pair listed above and wore the new stanless while I was in AZ last week. Played golf 3 days and never noticed they were on. The best sungasses I have ever worn and believe me I have tried all the top end glasses several times.

I have the Titanium Sports, and i love them, everything is sharp and crisp.

They dont leave the little divets on the sides of your nose after you wear them for a long time, because they are so light you almost forget you are wearing them.

Only thing about the polarized lenses is they really bring out the flaws in the glass, and tint. you can see little circles in the glass (from when they formed it?)
And i can see rainbow patters in normal black tint (maybe cause its metalized film?)

Too bad they cost so much.....
Lucky i won $300 in vegas to pay for them.

Smith Optics

Smith Optics Slider series "Toasters" seen @Smith eyewear
They come with an assortment of polarized lenses. Mine came with blue mirror, amber, and yellow lenses to choose from.

Soft plastic frames, with built in nose pads for comfort. I tend to keep the amber lenses in.

I am a big sunglasses fan, I have 2 pairs of Smiths (different models), Spy Viktors, Oakley Square wire 2.0, Oakley 5's, and a pair of prescription polarized glasses I keep in my Golf bag. (contacts at all other times).

If I see something I like, it is an extreme act of self control to keep from buying.

Anyone else with this affliction?

Ditto. MJ Titanium Sports are great sunglasses. If you have never tried a pair on, do so. Downside, as mentioned is the price. Even worse is when you leave a pair at the pool.:( Fat chance on someone turning them in to lost and found! Makes them twice as expensive.

I find these "Neo" sunglasses work well for me. :D

buy them & other Matrix sunglasses from here:

Thanks guys for the suggestions... I will be heading out this weekend to grab a pair of Serengeti's or Maui Jims. They will go nice with my new 1991 Black/Black NSX I got last week. :D

maui jim all the way. I have Wailea style wity maui rose color. You need to get the right shape for your face. I also have a pair of Silhouettes which are my oldman glasses (with varilux lens) which have a cool polarized clip-ons that look like Morpheus glasss. Also Sihouettes make the Maui Jim Titanium frames.

Do they have guides on how to select the correct size/shape?

Yea, a mirror will work just fine.:p BTW, when I bought my most recent pair, Sunglasses Hut had a free scratch warranty for the first 6 months. May not seem like much unless you scratch those $250 pair of glasses.

I have the Titanium ones listed above they are "AWESOME"
super flexable unbelievably light and "very cool".

I would gladly spend 400.00 again for another set;
ps.. the prices have dropped I am sure since 2 years ago when I got my set.

Yes go here http://www.mauijim.com/mjweb/public/catalog/consumer_faceshape_sort.jsp

But really just look in the mirror or do what I did..... I ask my wife ... she didn't like my other glasses so this way she couldn't complain. Yes they're a little expensive however for me I can't handle bright light.... to many blues nights.... so the rose works really well wearing them even on overcast days or when I'm out with the boys at night

The MJ Titanium I bought a year and half ago had a fault with the screws falling out. Took my old pair in and showed them where only one screw was replaced when I sent them in for warranty. The MJ rep was visiting the store that day and gave me a new pair no questions asked. I was so elated with the customer service I bought a pair of the new stainless for myself and my wife. MJ has never been over $250.00 at the Sunglass Hut. The only thing I dislike about the Titanium is when you have them off you must keep them in the glass case or risk damage. I find myself wearing the stainless more because they fold and can hang from your shirt or stowe in the shirt pocket, whereas the Titanium is a bit cumbersom.

Very true, but worth the slight hassle. I simply slide them up above my fore head. They are so light you don't know they're up there. ;)

I look at it this way: US$400 to own the same glasses as MYNSX?
That's Priceless.... :D

Bill: do they come with a built-in chick magnet as well? Is that your secret? ;)
