Hey Fella's and Ladies,

I just wanted to ask(maybe from someone who's done it) what the best driving directions from Missouri... Dixon, MO 65459 to be exact to Salt Lake City, Utah:confused: .

And YES, I already checked YAHOO MAPS, GOOGLE, AND MAP QUEST...

YAHOO was outta' their minds:eek: !

MAP QUEST wasn't much better:frown: ...and GOOGLE was confusing  .

ANYONE EVER DRIVE THIS ROUTE...or from this direction?

Looking at a national map, it looks like there are two possible routes and they're probably similar in distance and time:

1. I-70 west across Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado to Denver
I-25 north to Cheyenne
I-80 west across Wyoming to Salt Lake City

2. I-70 west to Kansas City
I-29 north to Omaha
I-80 west across Nebraska and Wyoming to Salt Lake City

No?

I just tried Mapquest, punched in zip codes 65459 to 84101 and it basically gave my answer number 2, using MO 28 and US 63 to get from Dixon to Columbia and I-70, with a small shortcut from I-29 across eastern Nebraska to Lincoln so you don't have to go all the way north to Omaha (which makes sense).

I'm not sure why you don't like that answer...

I'm in SLC right now. I just checked Mapquest from your zip code to SLC. I would go with what they say. I-80 west through Wyoming is a pretty long and straight drive, but it is the fastest. Don't try I-70 through Colorado or anything. Just make sure you check the weather everyday. If you take Wyoming or Colorado, you will have to drive through some nasty weather if they are expecting any type of storm. I just drove from SLC to Pueblo, Colorado 2 weeks ago and it was absolutely fine. Good luck!
